    Highly recommend Crystal River Watersports!

We went on a private, half-day tour to snorkel with Manatees. It was an amazing experience. Our guide and boat captain were amazing with the kids and even brought hot chocolate to warm them up. I highly recommend Crystal River Watersports!

    Amazing experience!

We had a fantastic trip with Stephanie and Ralph. They gave us so much information about the local environment and about manatees while we were on the boat. They were just so interesting to listen too. I could have listened to Stephanie all day and Ralph did an amazing job capturing pictures of our swim. I would go out again with them in a heartbeat!

    Unforgettable manatee encounters!

Captain Juan is the best! He was very safe, knowledgeable, personable, and accommodating. We had incredible manatee encounters with him at the helm. He is a fantastic guide and captain. Thank you for all the work you do to protect manatees! The rest of the staff at Crystal River Water Sports is great, too. I would highly recommend this company!

    Highly recommended

It was really beautiful. I like a lot how Leah and Dekota were very cautious and respectful with the manatees. Eco tours are the best ❤️

Absolutely phenomenal experience with Crystal River Watersports!

We did a manatee snorkel tour and it was truly one of the best experiences we’ve ever had. Captain Juan and our guide, Ralph, were incredible—so kind, professional, and unbelievably knowledgeable. They taught us not just about the manatees, but about the entire ecosystem and history of the area. Ralph even brought bones and skulls to help explain what we were seeing, which made the experience educational in the best possible way. They knew exactly where to take us to find manatees in quieter, less crowded areas, which made the encounters feel respectful, peaceful, and absolutely magical. We had amazing interactions while always feeling like the manatees’ safety and comfort came first. If you’re considering a manatee tour, HIGHLY recommend Crystal River Watersports. This is the team you want—expert, thoughtful, and genuinely passionate about what they do. We would do it again in a heartbeat!

Swim with Manatees: Eco-Educational Tour in Crystal River: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Crystal River.

How much does Swim with Manatees: Eco-Educational Tour in Crystal River cost?

    +

Prices start at $100 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Crystal River usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Swim with Manatees: Eco-Educational Tour in Crystal River take?

    +

Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Crystal River is not rushed.

Is Swim with Manatees: Eco-Educational Tour in Crystal River worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 252 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Crystal River, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Swim with Manatees: Eco-Educational Tour in Crystal River?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Swim with Manatees: Eco-Educational Tour in Crystal River suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Swim with Manatees: Eco-Educational Tour in Crystal River?

    +

Around 88 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Crystal River can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Crystal River and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Swim with Manatees: Eco-Educational Tour in Crystal River start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Crystal River within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Crystal River?

    +

Crystal River is the one place in Florida with permitted in-water manatee tours: early-morning snorkel trips into Three Sisters Springs, scalloping in summer and spring-fed kayak paddles. On Outty we rank every Crystal River experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 Hour Small Group All Inclusive Manatee Swim with free Photo pkg, Guided Small Group Manatee Snorkeling Tour with In-Water Photographer, Most Popular 3hr Manatee Swim Tour + In-Water Guide!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Crystal River?

    +

November to March for manatee season, July to September for scalloping. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Crystal River?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
