What you'll see and do

  1. SeaStar Andaman - Day Tours

Get conveniently picked up in the early morning by minivan from your hotel on the entire Phuket Island and head over to Nam Khem Pier in Khao Lak. Meet the passionated boat crew of SeaStar Andaman and enjoy a light breakfast before cruising by speed boat in less than 90 minutes to the unspoiled Surin Islands. Mu Koh Surin National Park is situated in Phang Nga province, roughly 60 kilometres away from the shore. Make the first snorkel stop in Chong Khat Bay which is located between the two main Surin Islands. At low tides it is actually possible to walk across, as the water is extremely shallow. Our guides will explain you how to protect and conserve coral reefs through environmentally friendly guidelines of Green Fins for your snorkelling experience. Continue to Koh Surin Tai (the Southern Surin Island) to discover the natural way of life of the 150 Moken sea gypsies. The Chao Leh, which means 'The Sea People' in Thai, spend much of their lives on their boats, called 'kabang'. The Moken survive mainly through fish hunting and gathering of shellfish and other marine life from the reefs and mudflats. At Mai Ngam Beach you can enjoy the beach life or do some walking along the 2-kilometre hiking trail. Then indulge in a delectable buffet lunch in the canteen of the park ranger station to fuel your energy for the next snorkelling sessions. Make your way to Bon Bay or Pineapple Bay (depending on the sea conditions) where you can swim on vibrant coral reefs and spot colourful fish hovering around their natural habitats in calm waters. The last snorkel stop will be at Mae Yai Bay with a jump into the clean and clear turquoise waters brimming with magnificent underwater aqua life. After a lovely time, it is time to say goodbye to Surin Islands and to return to the pier in Khao Lak. Enjoy some sweets and coffee before returning to your accommodation in Phuket with happy smiles and an amazing story to tell your friends. Wouldnt recommend

Horrible food, views were nice. We signed for an English speaking group? bur surprisingly we were assigned with a Chinese guide who spoke non-stop Chinese. We literally couldn't reset, either escape or go back. The food is very bad, felt so cheap. Other than views expect nothing. I would highly recommend explore different companies who treat there customers with dignity.

Response from the operator: We sincerely apologize that your experience did not meet your expectations, and we are truly sorry for the disappointment you felt. We deeply regret the confusion regarding the English-speaking guide and understand how frustrating and uncomfortable this must have been for you. We are also very sorry that the food and overall experience did not reflect the standard we aim to provide. Please know that your feedback is greatly valued and will be carefully reviewed with our team so we can make the necessary improvements. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us, and we genuinely hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again and provide you with a much better experience in the future.

An enjoyable day

I great day out and good value for money. We were picked up from our hotel and arrived at the pier. There were lots of people there but it was very well organised. Our guide, Patsy was very good and had an excellent sense of humour. It was 1 hour 20 mins on the speed boat to the islands which was fine as weather was good. We visited the sea gypsies village and then went snorkelling from the boat. We then stopped for lunch which again was very well organised with a good choice of Thai food. We then had some time to enjoy the beautiful beach. We had 2 more snorkelling stops before returning.

Great day out for snorkelling, sun and beach lovers

A must do tour for those who love snorkelling! Agree it’s a long day , especially from Patong beach. However it’s easy to sleep in the air conditioned bus. The organisation was outstanding. Staff were excellent. Food and drinks provided all day. Even on our return. Take reef shoes and recommend hiring the Go Pro if you don’t have one. The coral was really big. Gorgeous fish. Well worth your time

Response from the operator: Dear travelbuggill Thank you for taking the time to review your recent snorkeling tour with us! We're thrilled you enjoyed the experience, particularly the organization, friendly staff, and amazing underwater world. We understand Patong is a bit of a trek, but we're glad the comfortable bus helped you rest up for the adventure. We're also happy to hear the food and drinks throughout the day kept you fueled and refreshed. Your tip about reef shoes and renting a GoPro is spot-on! We always encourage guests to be prepared for the best snorkeling experience. Thank you again for choosing us, and we hope you'll consider joining us for another adventure in the future!

Surin Islands Snorkel Tour by SeaStar Andaman from Phuket: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phuket.

How much does Surin Islands Snorkel Tour by SeaStar Andaman from Phuket cost?

+

Prices start at $2692 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phuket usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Surin Islands Snorkel Tour by SeaStar Andaman from Phuket take?

+

Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phuket is not rushed.

Is Surin Islands Snorkel Tour by SeaStar Andaman from Phuket worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phuket, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Surin Islands Snorkel Tour by SeaStar Andaman from Phuket?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Surin Islands Snorkel Tour by SeaStar Andaman from Phuket suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 4. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 10-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Surin Islands Snorkel Tour by SeaStar Andaman from Phuket?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phuket can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phuket and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Surin Islands Snorkel Tour by SeaStar Andaman from Phuket start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phuket within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Phuket?

+

On Outty we rank every Phuket experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Southern Flavors Phuket Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, James Bond Island by Big Boat w/ Sea Cave Canoeing and Lunch, Phang Nga Bay Canoeing & James Bond Island Tour from Phuket. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Phuket?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Phuket?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
