Nico greeted us with such warmth and genuine hospitality — he treated us like friends rather than clients. Highlights of the day: • Collecting us promptly from the port, with a big smile and a sign, ready to show us his city. • Sharing personal stories, family photos and local insights– we felt connected to Surabaya in a way so few visitors get. • Visiting the Heroes Monument museum where the young student-guides were fantastic, and Nico helped make the history meaningful. • Exploring Old Town: the scooters, glass-bottle gasoline stations, river-front scenes, street life — all filtered through Nico’s commentary and kindness. • The traditional clothing photo shoot: the ladies dressed us up, the photos came without extra charge, and Nico patiently sent every image. Exciting and Informative
This was an excellent tour. Our guide was exceptional as he customised our tour based on our interests showing us much of the various cultures and their way of living in Surabaya. We thoroughly enjoyed the jeep ride which was a very interesting way to see some of the sites. I certainly recommend the tour and our guide who I know presented us with the best tour in the available timeframe. Highly recommend.
