Excellent SUP experience
This was a great afternoon on the water. We had a group of 6 and there was one guide showing us where to go. We had a few hours on the water to explore and check out various coves. When we stopped at the beach there was a little waterfall and a small cave to take pictures in. A great mix of getting active and relaxing and getting to see Manuel Antonio/Quepos from the water. I would recommend wearing sunglasses with croakies or a hat. The beach is a bit rocky, so water shoes would be a nice addition as well.

SUP in Quepos
The day we went the ocean water was choppy, or maybe it was always like that, but Javier and Sebastian made it easy to maneuver. They were very attentive making sure everything is alright. We felt bad for not being able to paddle any faster, but it’s ok since we are on vacation, we need to relax. Landing was a little tricky due to the continuous waves. Some of us scraped either knees or toes against to rocks. Beware of the mosquitoes in the late afternoon. All in all, we would do it again with this company when we visit here next time.
Response from the operator: There is never a rush, especially when it comes to paddle boarding. We're glad we were able to make your experience a positive one. Please get in touch when you come back. Thank you

Perfect combination of exercise and relaxation!
Our guide, Javier, made the entire experience amazing! From managing all of the details, providing helpful hints and training, to setting up a nice snorkeling opportunity midway through the tour, everything was top notch!

Bare Minimum SUP Experience
I booked this excursion the night before we planned to go, and was pleasantly surprised Dante’s was able to accommodate. However, I wrote in the comments that we wanted 3 paddleboards and 1 kayak, as one member of our party was afraid of trying SUP, but this request was not acknowledged and we ended up with 4 SUPs. Life jackets were not provided despite being listed as one of the items included with this package and despite our persistent request. Our guide Antonio seemed very annoyed with us at this point. He brought us to the small rocky beach on the other side of the cove, and told us to just paddle around to cove for the next 1.5 hours while he sat on the shore. He didn’t lead us anywhere else until we begged him to. I booked Dante’s because it was $15 cheaper than MASS, but for a better experience, just go somewhere else.

Pura Vida! Wonderful SUP-Tour.
We booked a private SUP-Tour. Our guided was Javier. He was great. We start at the harbor of Quepos and paddled around the corner in direction of Manuel Antonio NP. We did a break at a wonderful beach and a nice waterfall. At the beach Javier show us two sloth and white face monkeys and explain a lot about this animal. All in all it was Pura Vida!

SUP Paddle board Manuel Antonio: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quepos.
How much does SUP Paddle board Manuel Antonio cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quepos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does SUP Paddle board Manuel Antonio take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quepos is not rushed.
Is SUP Paddle board Manuel Antonio worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Quepos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule SUP Paddle board Manuel Antonio?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is SUP Paddle board Manuel Antonio suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 8. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book SUP Paddle board Manuel Antonio?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quepos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quepos and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does SUP Paddle board Manuel Antonio start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quepos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Quepos?
+
On Outty we rank every Quepos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Whitewater Rafting Savegre Class II-III plus Waterfall Manuel Antonio, Manuel Antonio Canopy Tour - Longest Twin Zip Line in Central America, Waterfall Ziplining & Canyoning. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Quepos?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Quepos?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
