    About this experience

Nestled six miles southeast of The Wave and Coyote Buttes, White Pocket stands as a "Mars-like" spectacle spread across a compact one square mile. A treasure trove within the immense Vermilion Cliffs National Monument of far Northern Arizona, White Pocket is a marvel of geological wonder. Unlike its surrounding counterparts, which boast vibrant red hues, White Pocket is noted for its unmistakable light gray and white palette. Swirling patterns dance across thin layered strata, a feature that makes this location a visual feast for the eyes. The sandy plains here are dotted with modest vegetation, offering a stark yet harmonious contrast to the area’s unique erosive rock formations.

Unforgettably beautiful surreal site, excellent tourcompany

We were speechless by the beauty of this site. This is an excellent tourcompany . Our guide Raymond was very experienced, skilled and kind: he knows how to drive the softsand road and knows every corner of White Pocket. He showed us the best views, colors, lights and photo-spots and let us explore on our own pace. We stayed until sunset. We also saw a lot of animals during the rides: antelopes with babies, cows on the sandy road, countless rabits, deer, chipmunk, kangaroo mice. They take you in a comfortable car with enough sanitary stops or stops to take in the beautiful views! He even bought us homemade cookies! This trip should be on your bucketlist! And if you go, do it with this company!

Response from the operator: Thank you for this glowing review! We’re absolutely thrilled that you were left speechless by the beauty of White Pocket. It’s wonderful to hear how Raymond’s experience, driving on the soft sand, and deep knowledge of the area made your trip so special — from the stunning photo spots and sunset timing to the incredible wildlife sightings. Thank you for the strong recommendation. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure soon! 😊

This is the best company and Cash is the best guide!

This trip was a same day booking after having a wonderful experience with our guide Cash at Peekaboo Canyon that morning. We called and booked direct through the company and not only were they able to make it happen, they even rearranged other tours so that Cash could be our guide again! The price was incredible and we were super happy to continue to support a company that exists primarily to allow people like us to experience the beauty of Utah without spending an arm and a leg while still providing expert guides and top notch service. Cash was the best! His knowledge and understanding of not only the area but the road was critical to a successful trip. We felt completely taken care of and safe the entire time. Hanging out with Cash was like being with a friend you haven't seen in a while but pick right back up where you left off. He was friendly, conversational and so funny! We went out to try and capture pics of the Milky way and unfortunately there were clouds that just would not move! (PS. Cash, the "your mama was a rain gauge" was solid, but the rest of your cloud smack talk could use some work). 🤣😂 Cash stayed extra late to allow us additional time to capture photos (we did get some lovely ones but the files are too large to upload here). Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed this experience - we got to see incredible natural beauty, capture stunning photographs, make memories and have a blast with Cash the whole time. Highly recommend! If we make it back out this way again, we will definitely book with y'all again! You have our business for life!

Response from the operator: Thank you for this fantastic and detailed review! We’re over the moon that you had such a wonderful morning at Peekaboo and decided to book a second tour the same day with Cash again. It’s awesome that we could make that happen! Cash is the best — we love hearing how his knowledge, safe driving, friendly personality, and sense of humor made the trip so fantastic. Thank you for the kind words about our pricing and service, and for your loyalty. We can’t wait to welcome you back again — you’ve got a standing invitation! 😊

    Experienced guide, great tour

I would strongly recommend this tour. Our guide took us to various interesting places in White Pocket, which could be hard to reach without an experienced guide. I had a great time.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the great review! We’re so glad you had a wonderful time exploring White Pocket. It’s fantastic to hear our guide helped you reach those interesting, hard-to-access spots safely. Thank you for the strong recommendation — we hope to welcome you back soon! 😊

So much fun at White Pocket!

What a great experience. While the ride out was long, Alvery (our tour guide) was a great driver and very accommodating, and the vehicle was spacious and comfortable. Stopped at some neat viewpoints along the way. Once in White Pocket, the formations are stunning. We spent a few hours wandering and exploring, seeing all its unique landscapes. Alvery was patient, knowledgeable, sociable, and a great photographer. Highly recommended!

Response from the operator: We can't thank you enough for this bright and enthusiastic recommendation! We are over the moon that the stunning views of White Pocket blew you away. Alvery is the absolute best at blending deep knowledge with a sociable, patient attitude, and he loved making sure you had plenty of unhurried time to wander and explore! We hope to see you back again in the future!

    Stunning White Pocket

We had a fantastic time with Aaron, our guide, and one other couple. Aaron was very friendly, kind, and knowledgeable about the area and best photo spots. This tour was well worth the price, especially not having to drive and navigate that extremely long, sandy, hazardous road. (It is not worth getting stranded in a rental vehicle trying to navigate on your own.) I would absolutely do this tour again. White Pocket is such an amazing place to explore!!

Response from the operator: Wow, thank you so much for this fantastic review! We are completely thrilled that your group had such an amazing time exploring White Pocket with Aaron. He is an absolute rockstar, and he is going to be so happy to hear that his friendly vibe, kind heart, and expert photography spots made the trip so worthwhile. You made the absolute perfect call leaving that long, hazardous sand road to him so you could just relax and enjoy the magic!

SUNSET White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure-Small Group: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Zion National Park.

How much does SUNSET White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure-Small Group cost?

    +

Prices start at $179 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Zion National Park usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does SUNSET White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure-Small Group take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Zion National Park is not rushed.

Is SUNSET White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure-Small Group worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 76 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zion National Park, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule SUNSET White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure-Small Group?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is SUNSET White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure-Small Group suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book SUNSET White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure-Small Group?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zion National Park can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zion National Park and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does SUNSET White Pocket Off-Road & Hiking Adventure-Small Group start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Zion National Park within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Zion National Park?

    +

Zion trips centre on the Narrows and Angels Landing, canyoneering in slot canyons, e-bike rides along the scenic drive and Bryce Canyon combination days. Permit handling and gear rental inclusions are the biggest quality differences here. On Outty we rank every Zion National Park experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Award Winning UTV Slot Canyon Tour, East Zion 4 Hour Slot Canyon Canyoneering UTV Tour, East Zion Crimson Canyon Hike & UTV Adventure. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Zion National Park?

    +

April to May and September to October. Summer means early starts. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Zion National Park?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
