The view of Signal Hill, Lion’s Head, Table Mountain and the 12 Apostles is unforgettable. Uninterrupted views of our spectacular mountain range and the sea breeze will leave you feeling rejuvenated and hungry to taste more of what the Mother City has to offer. The trip to Granger Bay takes us past the Green Point Lighthouse, the wrecks of the Seafarer and RMS Athens and to one of the favourite hangouts for our endemic Haviside’s dolphins. They are common companions to our trips – particularly on summer mornings.

Kayaking - moments that take your breath away!
Fantastic experience once again! You don't need to think twice about considering this. Tracey is an excellent guide. I'm going to miss Cape Town on the water. And by the way, LOVE the new T-shirt logos!
Response from the operator: THANK YOU so much, next time you get a free Tee for sharing the kayak love,! We are looking forward to seeing you for dose of vitamin sea :)

Shocking
Tracy, the co-owner, is one of the rudest people I have ever met! Humiliating yourself like that in public. Want to run a successful business, Tracy? You don't treat paying customers like that. Ridiculous and embarrassing. She seems to be the common complaint in these negative reviews.
Response from the operator: Hello again. For the record, please remember you booked with another company that asked Cape Kayak to add you to our trip. Our trip departed 15 minutes earlier, which unfortunately you were not told. Our company policy is clear in that clients cannot miss the safety briefing. When a booked customer does not arrive in time for the briefing, we call and check to see if the customer is en route, but since you had not booked or paid us we had no details and proceeded without you, so as not to delay the entire group. Terribly sorry for the inconvenience caused to you both, I know how disappointing it is to miss out on an adventure due to being late, which was not your fault. My bad for allowing a non-booked customer to join on such short notice.

A beautiful sunset session with super-exciting encounters with sea life.
Absolutely wonderful session with great welcome, clear and friendly preparation and support, and the best trip possible on a calm and beautiful evening with dive-fishing birds, a stray penguin from Robben Island, and LOADS of seals and dolphins fishing and playing all around us. (I never realised seals do complicated water gymnastics for fun, too!) So even if there had been none of these, it would have been a beautiful trip along the coast in lovely conditions. But with all the animals it was a complete delight and utterly memorable. My photography was disappointing but Trace's album of photos which arrived really promptly afterwards more than made up for this. I can't recommend this adventure highly enough, and you don't have to be experienced at paddling at all, I've only done it a handful of times over the years and I found that the 2 hour trip s just the right length to feel immersed in being out in the sea without becoming over-tired. Highly recommended!

While the sun dips into the sea at sunset
What a great experience. Calm waters, spectacular views of the mountains with a beautiful sunset over the sea, seals playing in the water, a whale blowing in the distance and a flash of dolphins. Our guide was exceptional and took very good care of us. Knowledgeable and friendly. The shop facilities were clean and hygienic. The delivery of pictures were instant. Strongly recommended. Will definitely back soon!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much Sanet for reviewing us, it makes our hearts so happy to see and hear locals coming back for more nature time. Thanks for the 5 stars!!!!!

Why this scores 55
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Cape Kayak Golden Hour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.
How much does Cape Kayak Golden Hour cost?
+
Prices start at R 550 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Cape Kayak Golden Hour take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.
Is Cape Kayak Golden Hour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Cape Kayak Golden Hour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Cape Kayak Golden Hour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Cape Kayak Golden Hour?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Cape Kayak Golden Hour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cape Town?
+
On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape Town: Lion's Head Sunrise/Sunset Hike, Hike Table Mountain or Lions Head in Cape Town Like a Local, Cape Point and Boulder's Penguins Full Day Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cape Town?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cape Town?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
