    About this experience

The Armenistis Lighthouse, or "Fanari" in Greek, meaning "Lantern," has stood as a sentinel over Mykonos since 1891, offering a glimpse into Mykonos' maritime history. Located just 6.5 km from Mykonos town, it can be reached via the road from Agios Stefanos which offers the most spectacular views on the island. Worth it for the view

My guide Christina was amazing. She was so warm and friendly and knowledgeable. She gave me lots of fantastic photo opportunities and angles. The light house itself isn’t anything that spectacular but the location and view from there is definitely worth it.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you enjoyed your time with us! We hope to welcome you back to Mykonos for more unforgettable experiences in the future.

    Lovely views

The Lighthouse itself is nothing special but the views are super. We were lucky to be there with only 2 other people & it was very tranquil. We also hiked from Mykonos town up a very very steep hill to avoid the busy main road traffic. Quite tricky in places, but ok if you take your time & have sensible shoes, sun hat & water. Beware, there is one place where we took the left hand road (up another steep hill) rather than the right & we had to come back a little way as it led to some houses & no further! Coming back down to the New Port area was tricky as the hill was so steep. Take it slow, you don’t want to fall. We were able to catch the Seabus back to the Old Port which was a good idea after this hike. If you don’t mind a steep climb & hiking is your thing, then this is something for you. The views are worth it. Otherwise, hire a car or bike & visit that way or go on an organised tour. We were told the sunsets are lovely from here & I expect they certainly are.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your feedback! We're glad to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful views from the Lighthouse!

    Disappointing tour.

I booked this excursion based on the description which stated a light snack and wine was being provided. There was NO snack or wine and the tour guide for this did not know anything about this. This excursion was extremely disappointing and overpriced. We would have gotten the same experience if we had just hired a taxi.

Response from the operator: Dear Mrs. Waltman, Thank you for reaching out and sharing your feedback about the recent tour you attended on October 10th. We sincerely apologize that the experience did not meet your expectations, and for the inconvenience you faced regarding the missing refreshments. We strive to ensure that all of our guests have an enjoyable and memorable experience, and it's clear that we fell short in this case for an inclusion which does not apply to this tour. We will be addressing these concerns with our team to ensure improvements are made moving forward. Thank you for your understanding. Best Regards,.

Sunset Lighthouse Armenistis: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Athens.

How much does Sunset Lighthouse Armenistis cost?

    +

Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Athens usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sunset Lighthouse Armenistis take?

    +

Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Athens is not rushed.

Is Sunset Lighthouse Armenistis worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4/5 across 15 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Athens, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sunset Lighthouse Armenistis?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sunset Lighthouse Armenistis suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sunset Lighthouse Armenistis?

    +

Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Athens can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Athens and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sunset Lighthouse Armenistis start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Athens within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Athens?

    +

On Outty we rank every Athens experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Athens Small Group E-Bike Tour, Small Group Greek Traditional Food Tour in Athens 20+ Tastings, Athens Scenic Bike Tour with Regular or Electric Bike + Acropolis. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Athens?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Athens?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
