Just do it!! It is amazing!
The tour was great! The nature there is beautiful, the hike is difficult because of the altitude, but it's worth it! Our guide was Katy, she was super attentive and communicative!

Great day trip
I had a great time on my tour with my guide, Jorge. It took around 1.5hrs hiking to reach the top where you can see the lagoons. With the high altitude the hike is a little draining but the scenery is worth it and is beautiful.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re glad you enjoyed the hike and the beautiful scenery along the way. It’s great to know Jorge made the experience even better with his guidance throughout the tour. Thanks for choosing Gran Colombia Tours—we’d love to have you back for more adventures in Colombia!

The paramo is an unique ecosystem and well worth the visit
The hike and the views are really impressing. My guide Myra provided a lot of information on the fauna and the flora of the paramo and was sensible to the issue of the altitude (bit of pression in my ears in my case).
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful feedback! We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed the hike and the impressive views of the páramo. Thank you for choosing Gran Colombia Tours—we hope to welcome you again on another experience in Colombia!

Unique and active adventure with a misleading listing
Overall we enjoyed this tour. The scenery was breathtaking and unlike anything we’ve ever seen. We did some bird watching which was a bonus. The guide Daniel was kind and knowledgeable about birds, but his English was poor. The 2 hour drive to the trailhead was rough and bumpy made worse by a cramped and uncomfortable van with bad suspension. The driver was very kind and safe though. The TripAdvisor listing is misleading as we did not actually enter the National Park, hiking from a farm up into private land at the edge of the park. So the “What’s Included” segment saying entry fees are covered is not true. The hike was 1 hour and 45 minutes up and took us to a beautiful lookout at 12,300 feet, so the gain in altitude was a bit less than 2,000 feet. The trail was slightly muddy, not difficult, but required good balance as it was very rutted and a bit rocky. Bring your own water and snacks, and layer up because the temperature changed from the 60’s and sunny to the low 40’s with wind and misty rain.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your detailed feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the scenery and the overall experience, as well as Daniel’s knowledge and the driver’s care. We also appreciate your comments regarding the transportation, guide language, and tour description. Based on feedback like yours, we have already updated the information on our website to avoid misunderstandings about the itinerary and inclusions. Your input is very valuable, and we continue working on improving every aspect of our experiences. Thank you for choosing Gran Colombia Tours.

Why this scores 77
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Sumapaz Páramo Private Hike Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bogotá.
How much does Sumapaz Páramo Private Hike Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $48 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bogotá usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sumapaz Páramo Private Hike Tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bogotá is not rushed.
Is Sumapaz Páramo Private Hike Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 77 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 54 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bogotá, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sumapaz Páramo Private Hike Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sumapaz Páramo Private Hike Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sumapaz Páramo Private Hike Tour?
+
Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bogotá can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bogotá and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sumapaz Páramo Private Hike Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bogotá within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Bogotá?
+
On Outty we rank every Bogotá experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private City Tour Bogota + Monserrate, Gold, Botero and Candelaria., Free Graffiti Walking Tour Every Day in Bogota, Viejo Bogota Food Tour with 12+ Tastings. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Bogotá?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Bogotá?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
