    Spectacular views! Worth it!

This was an awesome sunset hike! Surpassed our expectations! We weren’t sure we could do this, but our guide, Joe, was so accommodating! Joe was wonderful. He is experienced, guided us along the way and gave us the history of the area and the trails. Plus, he brought cold water and cold bandanas for us and even had an extra hat! Highly recommend!

Response from the operator: AnneMarie, we're thrilled your guide Joe showed you what you're truly capable of on the trails of the Phoenix Mountains. It takes grit to try something new, and it takes a great guide to make it unforgettable. We're happy your Stunning Sunset Guided Hiking Adventure surpassed your expectations and that the cold gear hit the spot. Thanks for choosing Mad Desert Trekking. You crushed it! 🎒🙌 — Matt Kalina | Owner | Mad Desert Trekking | Scottsdale, AZ Intense Human-Powered Sonoran Desert Adventures 🏜🦎☀️🌵

My daughter and I loved this hike!! Our guide, Jennifer, was amazing and so informative. She went at our pace and just made it easy for us!! Highly recommend to anyone who wants a stunning view of the area at sunset!! Views were just amazing!! Our guide also accommodated us with a last minute booking (around an hour) since our previous trip was canceled. Everyone should give this hike a try!!

    Worth it!!

100% recommend this hike. Mike is awesome, super accommodating and friendly. Taught my sister and I about the wildlife and plants in the area and was extremely well prepared. He even stayed out longer with us then originally planned. Definitely worth booking if you want a guide to show you some awesome views of AZ and a good hike (hike was not bad at all, a great experience for a variety of ages and people). Couldn’t recommend enough

Response from the operator: John, you two were fantastic! 🤩 There’s no better compliment than "definitely worth booking." We love hearing that you felt fully prepped and accommodated from start to finish. Whether you're a seasoned hiker or just looking to see the best of AZ, we’ve got your back. Hope to see you on the trails again soon! — Matt Kalina | Owner | Mad Desert Trekking | Scottsdale, AZ Intense Human-Powered Sonoran Desert Adventures 🏜🦎☀️🌵

Stunning Sunset or Sunrise Guided Hiking Adventure in Phoenix: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Phoenix.

How much does Stunning Sunset or Sunrise Guided Hiking Adventure in Phoenix cost?

    +

Prices start at $107 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Phoenix usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Stunning Sunset or Sunrise Guided Hiking Adventure in Phoenix take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Phoenix is not rushed.

Is Stunning Sunset or Sunrise Guided Hiking Adventure in Phoenix worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 368 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Phoenix, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Stunning Sunset or Sunrise Guided Hiking Adventure in Phoenix?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Stunning Sunset or Sunrise Guided Hiking Adventure in Phoenix suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Stunning Sunset or Sunrise Guided Hiking Adventure in Phoenix?

    +

Around 129 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Phoenix can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Phoenix and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Stunning Sunset or Sunrise Guided Hiking Adventure in Phoenix start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Phoenix within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Phoenix?

    +

Phoenix runs on desert experiences: sunrise hot air balloon lifts over the Sonoran, Camelback and South Mountain hikes, off-road Tonto Forest tours and day trips to Sedona and the Grand Canyon. Heat safety and start times decide whether a tour is good, so we weight timing detail in the ranking. On Outty we rank every Phoenix experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kayaking the Salt River Foxtail Trip, Grand Canyon with Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon Van Tour, Phoenix Hot Air Balloon Ride at Sunrise. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Phoenix?

    +

November to April. Summer tours run at dawn or not at all. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Phoenix?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
