From 1870 to 1945, Alsace was a major war zone between France and Germany. This tour will explore the history of the Alsatians, first under German rule, then under French. We will discover remnants of these wars and visit Struthof (a concentration camp at 900 meters altitude), a Nazi German concentration camp. For a lighter touch, we will conclude the tour with a visit to one of the most beautiful panoramic views of Alsace and Christendom at Mont Sainte-Odile. It is important to bring a waterproof jacket and warm clothing depending on the weather. A written description and audio guide are available in English for Struthof. In the event of exceptional closures or road closures due to snow, a visit to the Alsace-Moselle Memorial will be offered. More information about my organization can be found on my website. Helpful and friendly
Mickael was a great guide. He was very helpful with finding where my ship was ported, which was a little tricky. So thankful for the chance to revisit history and remember all those lost. We also had a nice trip to the monastery after with incredible views!!

Important Day Trip To Do For Everyone
Mickael is a great guide. Excellent communication before meeting, comfortable car (with excellent AC!) shared a lot of interesting info about the area, his family history as it relates to Alsace’s history and just general good tips for the area. Wear good shoes for the Struthof visit. The other stops after a heavy experience made the day end on a light note. On Struthof: if u know a lot of WWII history you can cruise through the indoor intro museum. If you don’t, make sure u read the info.

Mickael is a great guide.
Visiting a Nazi concentration camp is a sobering, saddening and educational experience. This camp is a unique experience, as it is the only one on French soil. Mickael conducted this tour with respect and dignity, allowing us to learn and immerse ourselves in the camp experience. He did a great job taking us through the Vosges mountains and an ancient abbey and small village. He is warm, engaging and informative. Highly recommend.
Response from the operator: Thanks you Mickaël, we have a beautiful weather for trip.

Mickaël was very good,...
Mickaël was very good, provided lots of information when required. Surprised us with a little snack when we visited the memorial on the way back to Strasbourg. Easy going and comfortable to be with.
Response from the operator: Thanks you Deborah, see you soon in Australia maybe

Struthof Concentration Camp: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Strasbourg.
How much does Struthof Concentration Camp cost?
+
Prices start at $251 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Strasbourg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Struthof Concentration Camp take?
+
Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Strasbourg is not rushed.
Is Struthof Concentration Camp worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 50 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Strasbourg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Struthof Concentration Camp?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Struthof Concentration Camp suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Struthof Concentration Camp?
+
Around 18 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Strasbourg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Strasbourg and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Struthof Concentration Camp start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Strasbourg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Strasbourg?
+
On Outty we rank every Strasbourg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Strasbourg Food Tour - A Taste of Tradition by Do Eat Better, Strasbourg: small group walking tour between history and curiosities, Colmar, Medieval Village & Castle Small Group from Strasbourg. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Strasbourg?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Strasbourg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Struthof Concentration Camp?
+
Included: Private transportation; and entrance included. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
Does Struthof Concentration Camp include hotel pickup?
+
Yes, pickup is offered, or you can meet at the start point instead from 26 listed pickup locations in and around Strasbourg. Be ready about 5 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.
What languages is Struthof Concentration Camp offered in?
+
It is offered in English and French. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.
Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Struthof Concentration Camp?
+
Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.
What happens to Struthof Concentration Camp if the weather is bad?
+
It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Strasbourg. Standard cancellation terms apply.
