Stirling Castle

Stirling Bridge
Heading out of Stirling to The National Wallace Monument you will pass Stirling Old Bridge. Although the original timber bridge from the famous 1297 Battle of Stirling Bridge no longer exists, Stirling Old Bridge stands just downstream. Steeped in history, Old Stirling Bridge was built in the late 1400s or early 1500s by Murdoch, Duke of Albany. One of its arches was blown up by General Blackney in 1745 in an attempt to prevent Bonnie Prince Charlie’s Highlanders from crossing the River Forth.

Wonderful trip from Edinburgh
Picked on time by William K. & the day just got better by going to Stirling Castle, Stirling bridge, the Wallace Monument & Bannockburn ....would not have been able to make those sites by taking a bus or train from Edinburgh & walking. Tour guide was friendly, courteous & supplied the tour with extra knowledge about the surrounding area and its history.

Great experience
Our driver was great - very friendly and full of knowledge of the area. The van was super cozy, so it was a great way to tour the sites. It was nice not having to stress about driving, where to park, etc. They took care of everything including booking a nice restaurant for lunch. We had a lovely day touring Stirling Castle and Wallace Monument. Our driver also took some nice detours to show us some great photo opportunities. Highly recommended.
