Amazing food and great tour guide.
Loved this tour! Cristobal shares a lot of interesting stories about Mexico and knows all the hidden gems for places to eat in Cancun. My favorite part was when he took us to try some of the very interesting local fruits. My favorite was the zapote chica (sugar apple). We loved his tour so much we did a second one with him. But this time in Playa del Carmen. Book him!
Response from the operator: Guuuuys!!!! Sinceramente, Cristobal.

Come for the food, leave with the memories!
Everything was seamless from beginning to the end. Starting with the quick response through WhatsApp from Jorge to discuss the tour, make payments and set up meeting points. Jorge was quick to respond to my inquiry and wanted to ensure that we would have a tour that we would enjoy. We ended up having a private tour with Cristobal and cannot say enough positive things about him! He immediately made us feel like friends spending an afternoon together while walking along the streets away from the tourist areas. We had two young children with us who did not initially want to try the foods. In spite of this, Cristobal made sure to include them and order them something he thought they would enjoy. He was patient and kind with us, while we stopped quickly in a park and took a little longer getting from point a to b with the children. By the end of the tour, he had the kids selecting fruits and gave them money to pay for the items. This was probably the best they had gotten along our entire time in Mexico! Cristobal brought us to a great shop to purchase local crafts at the end of the tour (at our request). At the end of the trip, he hailed and negotiated a great deal on a cab back to the hotel. The foods we tried (there was A LOT of them!) were all delicious! Tip: Come HUNGRY! Cristobal is clearly passionate about his work and knowledgeable about the history of the City. Overall, this was the best part of our time in Mexico! If you are even thinking about booking, go ahead and do it! You will not regret the experience!
Response from the operator: Oh wow! What a terrific review! Thank you so very much Neale family! We are always happy to put a little drop of happiness into family holidays! We are so happy your little ones enjoyed the tour as much as you did! Thank you for all your kind words that makes us keep giving our best in every tour and with every family! We hope to see you again for more foodies adventures. All the best for you and for your lovely family. Happy holidays. RMFT

Get off the resort for some REAL tacos!
This is our second tour with Chris. We reached out for a bit of a customized experience (we had a wide range of ages and allergies on the tour all together) and he did a great job creating a tour perfect for us. If you’re looking for a fun afternoon off the resort, this is a great way to eat some authentic food and learn about the unique history and culture of the Yucatan Peninsula.
Response from the operator: Holly! Thank you, you and your family are so much fun. It was my entire pleasure to share with you. I'm sure will have another time to explore another little bit of the local side on Puerto Morelos. Thanks for those kind words of yours. All the best for you and your lovely family. Sincerely, Chris.

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Steps Full of Flavor, Cancun Foodie & Market Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.
How much does Steps Full of Flavor, Cancun Foodie & Market Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Steps Full of Flavor, Cancun Foodie & Market Tour take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.
Is Steps Full of Flavor, Cancun Foodie & Market Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Steps Full of Flavor, Cancun Foodie & Market Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Steps Full of Flavor, Cancun Foodie & Market Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Steps Full of Flavor, Cancun Foodie & Market Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Steps Full of Flavor, Cancun Foodie & Market Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cancun?
+
On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cancun?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cancun?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
