    What you'll see and do

    1. Kanonkop Wine Estate

You'll meet your guide at your hotel or accommodation in Cape Town at 9am, and will then set off in an air-conditioned minivan to begin a full-day tour of the Stellenbosch Winelands. You'll arrive at Kanonkop Wine Estate, which is situated at the foothills of the Simonsberg Mountains. Experience their full-bodied, top quality reds during a standard wine tasting. Celebrate their award-winning Pinotage and Cabernet Sauvignon wines surrounded by the estate’s investment gallery in one of the oak maturation cellars.

    2. Eikehof

Travel towards Franschhoek and stop at Eikehof.  Nestled in the shade of lush green old oak trees, this family-owned winery has belonged to the Malherbe family since 1903. Today, Francois Malherbe is the fourth generation of family winemakers and still makes wines in the very cellar that his great-grandfather did. The name “Eike" means “oak” and wine-tasting is usually done under the shade of the majestic Old Oaks.  You can taste a selection of some of Eikehof’s best varietals: Semillon, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Merlot, Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon.

60 minutes here · Admission included

    3. Haute Cabriere

Your next stop is Haute Cabriere, which offers exquisite views across the Franschhoek Valley. Their tasting room, situated adjacent to the Cellar Restaurant, offers a unique wine-tasting ‘theatre’ experience in an underground auditorium within the Pinot Noir barrel maturation cellar.  The intimate journey through Haute Cabrière’s history and wine philosophy continues with a cellar tour and sampling of their wines; including the remarkable Chardonnay Pinot Noir and Pierre Jourdan Cap Classique. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the wine master use their famed French cavalry sabre to open bottle after bottle, adding dramatic flair to this exceptional tasting adventure.  If you start to feel peckish, opt to visit gourmet restaurants in Franschhoek, known as the culinary capital of South Africa or have lunch at the estate’s cellar restaurant – which is built into the side of the Franschhoek Mountain. (Optional food pairings or meals will be at your own expense.)

60 minutes here · Admission included

    4. Franschhoek Motor Museum

During your free time at lunch, you’ll have time to soak up the history of the French Huguenots who arrived in the Seventeenth Century, shop for knick-knacks and bric-a-brac along the main street or savour a charcuterie plate and tasty local creations. For an extra historic flair you could choose to replace one wine tasting with a visit to the spectacular Franschhoek Motor Museum, home to an array of auto-classics enough to impress any motor-maniac. Tour the expansive de-humidified halls as you marvel over the authentic presented vehicles, ranging from bicycles to Formula 1 cars.

30 minutes here · Admission not included

    5. Rust en Vrede Tasting Room

Next, you’ll visit Rust en Vrede – a 321-year-old estate specializing in producing bold red wines. Enjoy a master tasting of the estate’s wines while surrounded by fine Cape Dutch architecture. Rust-en-Vrede produced the first South African red wine nominated for the Top 100 Wines of the World, and former president Nelson Mandela chose to serve their wine at his Nobel Peace Prize Dinner. After your master tasting, you'll travel back to Cape Town to reach your hotel by 5pm. The drive, with its views of Table Mountain on the horizon, is a fitting way to end a tour in the Cape’s Winelands. Please note: The wine estates visited are subject to change without notice on the day of your tour.

    Simply the most perfect day

I simply cannot rate Hotspots2C highly enough. I surprised my friend for her 50th birthday by turning up on her pre-booked wine tour. The office went out of their way to accommodate the surprise and our tour guide Gerhard was exceptional. I could not have scripted the day better if I tried. Gerhard played along beautifully, booked lunch for us at La Petit Ferme, arranged a birthday cake and even went as far as buying a bottle of Boschendal wine as a birthday gift for my friend. Everything was perfect. Thank you Hotspots2C for outstanding service and a wonderful day out.

Response from the operator: We absolutely LOVE being part of special moments like these and going the extra mile to make our travellers happy! So happy to hear the surprise was a success and that it was a memorable and special day, what a great friend you are! We’ll see you next year for your next birthday! Keep'on adventurin' - from Ferdi & team Hotspots2c

    Awesome Experience

We had an incredible time on our full day tour. Ulrich (GG) was an incredible tour guide taking us to vineyards based on our specific wine preferences. He was very knowledgeable about the vineyards and the history of South Africa, which made our honeymoon experience extra special.

Response from the operator: Thanks for trusting us to share some of your honeymoon with Hotspots2c! Glad you loved your private tour and got to tailor the day to suit your preferences... that's a recipe for a 5-star experience and thanks for the time you took to write this top marks review! Always keep'on adventurin', and you know where we are... why not plan your 1-year anniversary now with a South African's Winelands reunion - from Ferdi & team Hotspots2c

Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cape Town.

How much does Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers cost?

    +

Prices start at $318 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cape Town usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cape Town is not rushed.

Is Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cape Town, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cape Town can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cape Town and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cape Town within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cape Town?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cape Town experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cape Town: Lion's Head Sunrise/Sunset Hike, Hike Table Mountain or Lions Head in Cape Town Like a Local, Cape Point and Boulder's Penguins Full Day Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cape Town?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cape Town?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers?

    +

Included: Hotel pickup & drop-off within 5km of Cape Town central; Wine tastings; Transport by air-conditioned minivan; and Local English-speaking professional tour guide. Not included: Food and drinks, unless specified. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Does Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers include hotel pickup?

    +

Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 225 listed pickup locations in and around Cape Town. Be ready about 15 minutes before the start time. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.

What languages is Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers offered in?

    +

It runs in English. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers?

    +

Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.

What happens to Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers if the weather is bad?

    +

It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Cape Town. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.

What do travelers say about Stellenbosch Wine Lover Day Tour with Private Transfers?

    +

Across 3 reviews averaging 5.0 out of 5, recurring themes include the guide, food and drink, knowledge and storytelling. Travelers single out the guide as the reason the experience works. One thing to know: Several reviewers comment on how the schedule is paced.
