Saved our Holiday so helpful!
We arrived at our meeting place to meet with another tour operator with Get your Guide. We found out that company had not been seen in days. We were lucky enough to meet the guides from Inside Out who could not have been more helpful. Thanks to their help we got skip the line tickets for three people just 30 minutes after our original scheduled time slot! Totally recommend this company went above and beyond and saved the day and we got to see the David which in itself is spectacular. Can’t thank you guys enough
Response from the operator: Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are delighted to hear that our team was able to help you and turn a stressful situation into a positive experience. We are glad we could help you enjoy your visit without missing out. Your kind words mean a great deal to our staff, and we sincerely appreciate your recommendation. We hope to welcome you again on a future visit to Rome! Kind regards, Gaia Inside Out Italy

St Peter’s Basilica
While due to “logistical” issues we did not have a guide, and so the company gave us a partial refund. We were able to skip the line both for entrance to Vatican City and St Peter’s Basilica. On a hot day that was epic. The employee that provided us with our tickets was very friendly and helpful.
Response from the operator: Dear Mary, thank you so much for your understanding and for still leaving such a generous review despite the guide not being available on the day. We're really pleased the skip-the-line access made a difference, especially on a warm day! Our team always tries to do their best, and we're glad the staff was friendly and helpful. We hope you'll give us another chance in the future! Warm regards, Claudia

Terrible Customer Service, do not use
I can't comment on the tour because we never had it but I can comment on the terrible customer service. We booked this tour months in advance. The day before they tell me it is canceled. The offer me a tour the next day or a refund. Not ideal, but we take the next day. Then they tell me actually that one is canceled too, we can have a self guided tour with audio and a partial refund. Again not great but we really wanted to see it so we took it. Arrived at meeting point as instructed, 30 minutes ahead where tickets and partial refund were to be delivered. No representative. Text them, get attitude, you're early, we'll be there 15 minutes before. Send them the text saying 30 minutes, more attitude. Person arrives with tickets, surprise knows nothing about partial refund. Show her message, they will send later. Line up, get in, ask where the audio tour is. It's on your phone which you need to know because you have to bring your own headphones, our phones don't have a port to plug them in. So no audio tour. We walked around alone for about 15 minutes because we have no clue what we were looking at, as we had no guided tour that we purchased, and no audio tour either. Despite having confirmation from both companies that we should get a full refund, each is trying to get the other to pay it so we are still waiting. Do not use either HeadOut or Inside Out Italy, terrible service. Weve been all over Italy in the last two weeks and had great service from ShoreExcursuins.com and Viator, but we will never get back to Rome and have been robbed both of the experience of St Peter's Bascilica and my vacation dollars
Response from the operator: Dear Customer, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are truly sorry for the disappointment and frustration caused by the repeated changes to your booking. The original guided tour had to be cancelled due to an exceptional operational issue. We understand that accepting an alternative date required you to rearrange your plans, and we deeply regret that the guide assigned to the rescheduled tour then had to cancel at the last minute because of an unexpected health issue. Although both situations were unforeseen, we fully recognize that experiencing two consecutive cancellations had a significant impact on your visit. We are also very sorry that the communication at the meeting point did not feel welcoming or consistent with the instructions you had received. You were absolutely right to follow the stated arrival time, and our team should have responded with greater understanding and professionalism. We equally regret that the representative was not informed about the agreed partial refund. Regarding the audioguide, we sincerely apologize that the requirement to use a personal smartphone and headphones was not communicated clearly enough in advance. The alternative offered should have been fully accessible and properly explained so that you could still enjoy a meaningful visit. We understand that you travelled a long way and may not have another opportunity to visit St. Peter’s Basilica. We are deeply sorry that the experience you had planned months in advance was affected in this way. This is not the level of organization or customer care we normally strive to provide. We are also sorry for the confusion surrounding the refund. We are committed to cooperating with Headout to ensure that the matter is reviewed and resolved correctly. We genuinely regret that we let you down on such an important day. We hope that, despite this experience, we may one day have the opportunity to show you the quality of service that Inside Out Italy is normally proud to provide. Kind regards, Veronica

The guide was competent, clear in explanations and able to make the visit interesting and engaging. I also really appreciated the management of the group, which was fluid and well coordinated. Why this scores 62
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
St Peter Basilica Guided Tour with Priority Access: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rome.
How much does St Peter Basilica Guided Tour with Priority Access cost?
+
Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rome usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does St Peter Basilica Guided Tour with Priority Access take?
+
Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rome is not rushed.
Is St Peter Basilica Guided Tour with Priority Access worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Rome, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule St Peter Basilica Guided Tour with Priority Access?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is St Peter Basilica Guided Tour with Priority Access suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book St Peter Basilica Guided Tour with Priority Access?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rome can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rome and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does St Peter Basilica Guided Tour with Priority Access start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rome within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rome?
+
Rome runs on skip-the-line access. The Colosseum underground, the Vatican before opening, and the catacombs south of the walls all require a licensed operator, and the price gap between the good ones and the rest is smaller than you would expect. We rank by guide credentials, group size and how reliably the promised access actually materialises. On Outty we rank every Rome experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rome Pasta and Tiramisu Class: Ravioli, Fettuccine & Fine Wine 5*, Pasta Making & Wine Tasting with Dinner in Frascati from Rome, Rome: Pizza & Tiramisu or Gelato Class with Flowing Fine Wine 5*. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rome?
+
April, May, September and October. August is hot and half the city is shut. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rome?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
