Very disappointing and poorly organised
We were supposed to be picked up from our resort at 9:00am for the excursion, but there was no communication from the company. We had to speak to our resort reception, who called the number provided. We were then told that they could no longer pick us up because there were not enough people for the excursion to go ahead. I completely understand that excursions may occasionally be cancelled due to low numbers. However, informing customers only after the scheduled start time is extremely disappointing and unprofessional. We had planned our morning around this excursion and were left waiting with no information. If the excursion was unlikely to go ahead, we should have been informed at least a few hours beforehand rather than having to chase the company ourselves. Better communication and organisation would have made a big difference. Overall, a very frustrating experience and not how you would expect a booked excursion to be handled.

Chill Rum Tasting
It's a short trip but it was enjoyable, informative and relaxing. "Sammie" my guide provided a lot of information about the island, the distillery and other important information. The rum tasting was great and the guide was very informative. I didn't go the local market which could have certainly made the trip longer if desired. I would recommend for sure.

Incredible Tasting Experience!
Our visit began with a video talking about the history of rum and the distillery and then we toured the plant and learned a lot more about making rum. The last thing was a visit to the tasting room...which was like no tasting room I've ever encountered! There were two counters, each about 30 feet long, with every rum produced here. we could taste anything and as much as we wanted. Wow! I highly recommend a visit here if you like rum or you just want to learn more about it.

A great tour and unbeatable rum tasting experience!
Great trip that we’d recommend. Pre-trip booking and confirming pick-up was easy and reliable. Car arrived on schedule and got us there in good time. We had a solo tour (as a couple) which was great and our guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Plenty of time for photos and questions before we got to the rum tasting which was fantastic. Huge choice across the St Lucia Dostillery range, with free pour available on all rums. We were able to sample them as required, to allow us to settle on what we would buy. And the retail staff were friendly and helpful too. Our Barefoot holidays guide then stopped at the central Castries market with us so we could buy a few bits there. If you like rum then the Distillery tour is a must and Barefoot arrange the trip really well. Thanks guys!

An ok experience
A pretty ok tour for those who like trying local rums with a few caveats. Tour did not show the sugar cane crushing process and the tasting room lacked guidance and left questions up to customers rather than having a nice sit down experience with someone walking you through the background on each rum etc. if you have been to Barbados, the rum tours there were much more informative

St Lucia Rum Tasting and Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Gros Islet.
How much does St Lucia Rum Tasting and Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Gros Islet usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does St Lucia Rum Tasting and Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Gros Islet is not rushed.
Is St Lucia Rum Tasting and Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 96 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Gros Islet, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule St Lucia Rum Tasting and Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is St Lucia Rum Tasting and Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book St Lucia Rum Tasting and Tour?
+
Around 34 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Gros Islet can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Gros Islet and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does St Lucia Rum Tasting and Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Gros Islet within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Gros Islet?
+
On Outty we rank every Gros Islet experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Wow Tours St. Lucia, St Lucia Highlights Tour, Lucia Private Boat to Soufriere Snorkeling Sightseeing Beach. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Gros Islet?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Gros Islet?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
