Great day, definitely did all the highlights
We were just a day in St Lucia as part of a cruise. We chose a private tour so that we could see as much as possible of the beautiful island. Lee was our guide, he was knowledgeable and flexible. We did the essentials, including a view of Castries, a chocolate shop, walking in Tet Paul nature park to see the Pitons. Then via the volcano, and onto the mud baths. From there to the waterfall where we got the last of the mud off. We could have gone to the Hummingbird beach, but we needed to go back to the town to buy a gift for a new baby. Lee was so helpful, he parked up, took us to a shop and then returned us to the cruise ship. Lee took lots of photos of us both and also my son & his wife who we unexpectedly bumped in to. Lee was kind & very approachable, he made it a great memorable day.
Response from the operator: I’m happy you enjoyed your day here in St. Lucia. Looking forward to serving you again.. see you soon. Smiles.

Ruined day on St.Lucia
I am leaving feedback about this so-called “excursion” which completely ruined our day in St. Lucia and seriously overshadowed the rest of our vacation. First of all, the air conditioning in the minivan was not working at all. Because of that, we had to keep all the windows open during the entire trip, and as a result I got seriously sick afterward. In addition, the seat belts were not functional. They were literally tied in knots behind the seats and could not be used at all (at least on the seats we were sitting in). No complimentary water was offered. The driver was just a driver and made no effort whatsoever to act as a guide or share any information or stories about the island or the places we were visiting. However, the most serious and unacceptable issue was the driver’s complete incompetence and unprofessionalism, which directly put passenger's lives at risk. Upon arrival at the volcanic springs, the entire group refused to visit them, saving at least one hour of time. We immediately proceeded to the waterfall. After visiting the waterfall, we asked the driver to take us to any beautiful beach where we could swim, since we had saved a lot of time. The driver himself suggested Sugar Beach, although it later became clear that this was a very poor choice. About 10 minutes before reaching the beach, the driver turned onto a frightening, severely damaged dirt road. It was obvious to all passengers that we were clearly not heading to Sugar Beach. We pointed this out to him multiple times, but he ignored us completely. The road became increasingly dangerous. At some point, the driver realized he was going the wrong way and began trying to turn the vehicle around on a very narrow road right next to a cliff. All passengers started screaming in fear and asked to be let out of the vehicle. My wife had a panic attack. Despite this, the driver attempted again to turn around at the edge of the cliff, ignoring everyone who was telling him to return to the main road. Even after we finally got back onto the main road, the driver stopped and asked other drivers for directions to Sugar Beach, although by that point it was obvious to everyone where we needed to go. We wasted another 30 minutes on risky searches for the ‘right’ road to the beach. Eventually, we were dropped off on a hill, from which we had to walk downhill for about 15 minutes and then climb back uphill for another 20 minutes. As a result, we had only 15 minutes left for swimming. Why was this beach chosen at all under these circumstances? Several highlights listed in the excursion program were not delivered at all. Marigot Bay, which was described as one of the main highlights, was not visited or even stopped at. There was also no stop at the banana plantation. When I asked the driver why we did not stop there, he simply said it was already closed. This raises a logical question: why did we not stop there at the beginning of the trip instead? In total, we paid $120 for two people, essentially for a round trip drive to Soufrière. We spent about 4 hours sitting in a hot, uncomfortable minivan without air conditioning, experienced a terrifying situation near a cliff and received no real excursion experience at all. This is especially confusing given that we skipped the volcano and hot springs entirely, saving at least one full hour — yet the program still was not followed. I sent feedback to the company and requested a 50% refund, as I did not receive an excursion, but merely an uncomfortable and unsafe transportation service. The owners refused, stating that they would use my feedback to “train other drivers.” What a “wonderful” attitude toward customers. I strongly do not recommend this company. This experience was not only disappointing but genuinely dangerous.
Response from the operator: Please note that this person has a personal agenda. Nothing in this review reflects our company. In essence this individual is vindictive and malicious.

A great trip
The reason that I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the Guide was a half an hour late. The communication for this half an hour was poor eg we were text to say the driver would be there in 15 minutes which didn’t happen. We weren’t notified that there would be a delay. The owner apologised over the telephone to us and asked the driver to give us a present of a St Lucia shot glass. These things happen. The driver, Lee, could not have been more helpful. He was at our disposal to go anywhere on the island, he took photographs for us and even bought us newly baked cinnamon calabash bread. He was very knowledgeable about the island and was a very safe driver.

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
St Lucia Island Excursion Day Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Castries.
How much does St Lucia Island Excursion Day Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $70 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Castries usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does St Lucia Island Excursion Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Castries is not rushed.
Is St Lucia Island Excursion Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 25 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Castries, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule St Lucia Island Excursion Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is St Lucia Island Excursion Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book St Lucia Island Excursion Day Tour?
+
Around 9 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Castries can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Castries and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does St Lucia Island Excursion Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Castries within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Castries?
+
On Outty we rank every Castries experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include ATV Tour in St Lucia, St Lucia Highlights Tour, Waterfall and Beach Safari in Santa Lucia. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Castries?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Castries?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
