Diocletian Palace tour
Went on Diocletian Palace tour in July 2023. Our guide was Gabrijela . She was absolutely amazing! Very interesting introduction to the history of the Palace, town of Split and Croatia in general. Was very attentive to details, but not too overwhelming and kept the interest of 2 teenagers right on a dot. Will definitely recommend Gabrijela. We booked 2 other tours with Splitlicious, so this private tour was given to us for the price of a group tour as a courtesy of the company.

Ivan is a star
Ivan is the ultimate guide. His knowledge of the history, culture and architecture was completely engaging. He has a natural style but his genuine passion for this enchanting place really came the through. It was 1.5 hours extremely well spent getting an first hand introduction to this amazing town.

Informative and entertaining walking tour with Ante.
Ante provided an extremely interesting walking tour of Split’s old town. He has a wonderful sense of humor which made Ante’s tour all the more entertaining, informative and memorable. Great way to learn the history of Split.

Memorable tour of Split w Ante
Ante was a serious wealth of knowledge regarding not just the culture and history of Split but stretching back from early antiquity through the modern political landscape of Croatia. The tour included all the highlights I could imagine in Split - certainly more than mentioned in the tour. Ante was hilarious, and with our small group, luckily all keenly interested in Roman history and Diocletian’s influence in the area, he struck a chord with us and we all hit it off. He is true historian, as far as I can tell and can give you an colorful, quirky and deeply academic experience without boring you in the slightest. I highly recommend! He’s a character I will not forget - I learned so much from him!!
Response from the operator: Wow, what a fantastic review - and we're so happy you had such a lovely time exploring Split with Ante! We do strive to provide the best experience in our city that we love so much. Kind regards Splitlicious team

Highly recommend it
What a brilliant tour! Not only Jelena was extremely knowledgeable, her passion and friendliness made it one of the highlight of my trip in Croatia. I learned a lot about Split and would highly recommend this tour as there is so much you can learn on your own. Jelena also took some of her time to send me afterward some recommendations on what else to do in Split. You can really tell she cares!!! Thank you!
Response from the operator: Dear Pierre, thank you for sharing your experience, and for recognizing we care for everyone who books with us :) We're happy to have provided a lovely experience exploring Split, as we do love our city. Kind regards Splitlicious team

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Split Walking Tour - Stepping Through the Culture and History of Split: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Split.
How much does Split Walking Tour - Stepping Through the Culture and History of Split cost?
+
Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Split usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Split Walking Tour - Stepping Through the Culture and History of Split take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Split is not rushed.
Is Split Walking Tour - Stepping Through the Culture and History of Split worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 17 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Split, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Split Walking Tour - Stepping Through the Culture and History of Split?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Split Walking Tour - Stepping Through the Culture and History of Split suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Split Walking Tour - Stepping Through the Culture and History of Split?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Split can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Split and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Split Walking Tour - Stepping Through the Culture and History of Split start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Split within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Split?
+
On Outty we rank every Split experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Split Small-Group Walking Tour with a Magister of History, Split Walking Tour with Professor of History, From Split: Krka Waterfalls, Food & Wine Tasting Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Split?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Split?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
