▶️without additional payment. Because of its geopolitical and strategic position, Ston has had a rich history since ancient times. Located at the gates of the peninsula, surrounded by three seas, protected by four hills, rich in fresh water and saltwater, fertile plains, it has been an important political, cultural and ecclesiastical centre. In 1333, Dubrovnik began the planned construction of the fortresses of Ston (Croatian: Veliki Ston) and Little Ston (Croatian: Mali Ston) on the present site. The cladding between the two towns along their entire length consisted of large walls which were supposed to defend Pelješac. This whole complex of fortifications, unique in Europe, was built in a short period of time. The usurpation by the Branivojević brothers, forced the people of Dubrovnik to fight them in 1326 with the help of Stjepan II Kotromanić. That year, Dubrovnik occupied Ston. The Dubrovnik people immediately began to build and establish a new Ston.

Amazing tour with fantastic lunch
Yes, there are more economical ways to get from Split to Dubrovnik. But this ride was worth every penny. First, driving along the coast allowed us to see so much of the countryside that it was just a delight. Second, our driver, Zvone, was interesting and informative and he kept us engaged. He made a couple of unplanned stops which was really nice. One was a roadside fruit stand and the other was a local winery. Having that amazing fresh fruit and bottle of wine for our stay in Dubrovnik was fantastic. Lastly, the lunch we had at @haciendadubrovnik was one of the absolute highlights of our monthlong trip. Our host was kind and friendly, the ambiance soothing and beautiful, the food fresh and out of this world delicious. I can’t recommend this tour/transportation enough

The beat way to get to Dubrovnik from Split
Zvone was an amazing driver. His knowledge of Croatian history and fun facts were educational. Lunch was a magical experience with the freshest sea food and delicious wine The stop in Ston was perfectly timed to stretch your legs. I would highly recommend this tour

Outstanding service
We booked a transfer from Split to Dubrovnik and it was absolutely perfect. Our driver was waiting for us right on time, helped us with our luggage, and was incredibly friendly and professional. He also shared some great local tips during the drive. The car was luxurious, clean, and very comfortable. It is the best and most relaxing way to travel down the coast. Outstanding service!

A gem!

Amazing trip with a tasty lunch stop
After short stay in Split we decided to visit Dubrovnik and one of the best ways was trip by a car. However, we were bit lazy to drive ourselves so we looked for a private company with private transfer. After reading some reviews and comments about, we contacted Ado (the Owner) and arranged everything what we needed in 1 minute. Absolutely amazing, on time and very comfortable cars for long range drive. We made a lunch stop at his Hacienda where we had 5-course lunch, with all local and domestic food and products. Trust me, you will not find many of these around. It is so good to have fish so fresh, mussels, octopus salad, tomatoes, cucumbers, and many more products from their garden and sea. Cherry on top was their own wine, bottled a year before. That aftertaste still feels like it was now. I would like to thank Ado and his team for all they did for us during our trip from Split to Dubrovnik and I highly recommend his services and his team! You will not regret it and you will not have just a transfer, you will have a perfect tailored trip. Thank you Ado, you are the best!
