IT WAS HORRIBLE!!! WE ARRIVED AT THE LOCATION AND WERE DENIED ENTRY. They let a family in front of us use enter but then told us we were too late after standing in line for 20mins. Refused to give our money back or let us partake in a you the activities, I will never use Viator or this company again

An Unforgettable Family Adventure in Cancun

This activity was one of the best experiences we had in Cancun. My family was absolutely fascinated, especially my son, who enjoyed every single moment. The thrill of speeding through the lagoon and then heading out into the ocean was simply incredible. Visiting the reefs afterward made the experience even more special. It is important to pay close attention to the driving instructions before starting, but they are very simple and easy to understand. Once you get going, it is all about fun and adventure. I highly recommend this activity to anyone visiting Cancun. You definitely won't regret it!

Buyers beware. I paid $98 for a speedboat excursion that I never attended due to a simple booking mistake

I booked through Viator, and my son and I were excited for this excursion. Unfortunately, I accidentally selected the wrong date. I notified both Viator and the subcontractor, Discovering Cancun, within 20 minutes of booking. The reservation was mistakenly set for 6/2 instead of 6/7, and I wasn’t even scheduled to arrive in the country until 6/5. Viator informed me that because the excursion date was within the 24 hour window, they could not make changes themselves. They did, however, call and email the vendor immediately. The communication from Discovering Cancun has been unacceptable. They did not respond until hours after the excursion had already taken place. Their initial claim was that they never received any emails from Viator. Once I provided screenshots proving the emails were sent, they said the issue would be “escalated.” I still have not received any resolution. After two follow‑up text messages, the only reply I received was “one moment,” followed by complete silence. It is clear this company has no intention of resolving the issue or providing professional customer support. This experience has been extremely disappointing. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic customer service is alarming. I would not recommend this company, they are unprofessional and unreliable.

However, despite your statement that Viator contacted us immediately, we did not receive any request from Viator asking us to modify or reschedule your reservation. The screenshots provided only showed communication between yourself and Viator and did not demonstrate that a modification request had been submitted to us. In our experience, when Viator determines that a booking date was selected incorrectly, they typically contact the supplier directly to request a date change. Had we received such a request, we would have gladly reviewed the possibility of accommodating it. Additionally, the reservation was never confirmed or canceled with us directly. Prior to the tour date, we sent the activity details and pickup information to the contact information provided on the reservation. Unfortunately, we did not receive a response until our transportation team had already arrived at the hotel location specified in the booking. At that point, the situation was clarified, but operational costs had already been incurred, transportation had been dispatched, and the reserved spaces had been held and unavailable to other potential guests. For these reasons, we were unable to approve a refund. This decision was not made lightly, but rather based on the costs and commitments already associated with the reservation. We truly regret the inconvenience and appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve our communication processes. For any future bookings, we recommend contacting Viator and the tour operator directly as soon as possible, as all of our contact information is clearly available on the Viator platform.
