Good Tour to Get a Flavor of Johannesburg
This was a wonderful experience even though we booked within 12 hours of the tour. Our tour guide, Life, was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful…Thanks, Life!!! But even more he made sure we were able to see the major attractions plus various real life experiences of Johannesburgians. Well worth the cost and time!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful feedback from you Soweto Township & Johannesburg Full Day Tour with our seasoned tour guide Life. We hope next time you visit Johannesburg, you have more time to explore other historical & cultural sites we have on offer as well.

A day with Jacob
Thank you to Jacob for a very memorable day out seeing Soweto and the apartheid museum. Also for taking us up the hill for a great view of Joburg. Communication was very good and clear. Would definitely recommend going on this day tour in their very comfortable Mercedes van. Would recommend that if possible more of the other side of Soweto is shown or talked about as well on the tour.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to spend the day with me sharing parts of our city and it's neighbourhoods that we find fascinating. I look forward to your return.

Great tour
This was one of the highlights of my visit to South Africa. Jacob & Life took good care of me. I enjoyed Soweto, Apartheid Museum, lunch... the visit to the Mandela House. Very accommodating.
Response from the operator: Thank you for the heartfelt feedback. Thank you for choosing Explore Joburg Pty Ltd for your tour services of our beautiful city of Johannesburg in South Africa.

Best township tour
The name of my tour guide was Life, fluent in English, very knowledgeable, descent gentleman. Though I’m a South African learned a lot about our history from Life. I was the only one but felt very safe throughout the tour.
Response from the operator: We are thrilled to have contributed to a memorable tour and collective experience of Johannesburg City. We look forward to your return.

Memorable tour
The Apartheid Museum + Soweto was an overwhelming experience to me. Kevin did a great job as a guide, giving me not only the touristic view, but also adding a priceless local perspective to everything he showed me. I felt safe and well-equipped with the team.
Response from the operator: We pride ourselves on "real experiences" and are thrilled to have made your visit to Johannesburg one of a kind.

Why this scores 68
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Soweto, Apartheid Museum & Constitution Hill Day Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Johannesburg.
How much does Soweto, Apartheid Museum & Constitution Hill Day Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Johannesburg usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Soweto, Apartheid Museum & Constitution Hill Day Tour take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Johannesburg is not rushed.
Is Soweto, Apartheid Museum & Constitution Hill Day Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 13 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Johannesburg, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Soweto, Apartheid Museum & Constitution Hill Day Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Soweto, Apartheid Museum & Constitution Hill Day Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Soweto, Apartheid Museum & Constitution Hill Day Tour?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Johannesburg can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Johannesburg and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Soweto, Apartheid Museum & Constitution Hill Day Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Johannesburg within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Johannesburg?
+
On Outty we rank every Johannesburg experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Ultimate Pilanesberg National Park Safari from Johannesburg or Pretoria, Soweto and Johannesburg Exclusive Full Day Guided Tour, Half Guided Day Tour of Soweto And Apartheid Museum. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Johannesburg?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Johannesburg?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
