About this experience
Are you ready for an extraordinary adventure? Join us on our South Coast tour, where you'll be immersed in a world of breathtaking beauty at every turn. As we travel south, we'll see stunning glaciers, farmlands, and volcanoes on one side, and the beautiful shimmer of the Westman Islands on the other. We'll visit the famous Seljalandsfoss waterfall. If the weather is good, we can walk behind the water and feel its power. We'll also see Gljúfrabúi, depending on the weather. Next, we'll go to Skógarfoss, a huge waterfall that drops 60 meters. Then, we'll reach Vík í Mýrdal, a popular town, where we'll stop for lunch. After that, we'll visit the black sand beaches of Reynisfjara and enjoy the unique scenery. We'll follow the Viking Trail along the coast to Sólheimajökull glacier, where we’ll get close to the ice and enjoy the view before heading back to Reykjavik. Glacier hikes are not included. You'll enjoy this day of exploring in a small group, traveling comfortably in a minibus.

Exploring the south coast of Iceland, from Glacier to Waterfalls to Black Sand beach.
A very complete tour of the south coast of Iceland! Our tour guide, Simon the spicy Viking, was very funny and engaging. He entertained us with many stories of angry young Scotsman, Justin Bieber, old Vikings and the history of Iceland. He took us to many iconic places in the south coast, but his stories entertained us throughout the long drives. Highly recommended!!
Response from the operator: Hi Kenneth, Thank you so much for your fantastic review! We are delighted to hear you enjoyed such a complete day exploring Iceland’s South Coast, from the glacier and waterfalls to the incredible black sand beach. It sounds like Simon, the Spicy Viking, made sure the journeys between the sights were just as entertaining as the stops themselves! We are very happy you enjoyed his mix of Icelandic history, Viking tales, unexpected characters, and humour throughout the day. Simon will be very pleased to hear your kind words and recommendation! Thank you for choosing EastWest, and we hope to welcome you back for another Icelandic adventure in the future. Warm regards, Marc EastWest Team Member

Amazing tour with waterfalls and great guide.
This was day 2 with Simon “the Spicy Viking” as our guide and he was amazing - again! He shared stories about Iceland and prepared us for all of the places we were going to. Easy to talk to and FUN! And the best play list on the way home! I highly recommend Simon and this company.
Response from the operator: Hi Staci, Thank you so much for another fantastic review! We are delighted to hear that after two days with Simon, the Spicy Viking, he managed to make your second adventure just as memorable as the first! It is wonderful to know you enjoyed his Icelandic stories, the way he prepared you for each stop, and of course the playlist for the journey home. Having a guide who is easy to talk to and keeps the day fun can make such a difference. Simon will be very pleased to hear your kind words and recommendation! Thank you for choosing EastWest for two days of your Iceland adventure, and we hope to welcome you back again in the future. Warm regards, Marc EastWest Team Member

This was a very excellent...
This was a very excellent tour. Our guide was very kind and informative and he even made a special effort to come to my husband and I as we were looking at the waterfalls and would point out specific things to us. He even showed me the puffins as I really wanted to see them. He let us spend 15 minutes over at the black beach. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and our guide. His name was Gon. Pls tell him we enjoyed it
Response from the operator: Dear Sharon, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are delighted to hear that you had such an enjoyable South Coast tour with Goncalo. It is fantastic to know that he took the time to share extra information with you, pointed out the puffins you were hoping to see, and made sure you had plenty of time to enjoy the Black Sand Beach. We will certainly pass along your kind message to Goncalo, who will be delighted to hear how much you enjoyed the day. Thank you for travelling with us, and we hope to welcome you back to Iceland again in the future. Kind Regards, Clare EastWest Team Member

Great tour guide
Our tour guide, Slavi, worked his magic to make the tour a wonderful experience even with the inclement weather. The waterfalls were interesting and the highlight for us was the Black Beach. Slavi added two more interesting spots due to the limited time we spent at the designated stops due to the weather.
Response from the operator: Dear Robert, Thank you so much for your review! We are delighted to hear that, despite the challenging weather, Slavi helped make your South Coast tour such an enjoyable experience. It is wonderful to know that Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach was a highlight for you and that you appreciated the extra stops he included to make the most of the day. We will be sure to pass along your kind words to Slavi. Thank you for travelling with us, and we hope to welcome you back to Iceland again in the future. Kind Regards, Clare EastWest Team Member

Why this scores 88
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
South Coast Sagas: Small Group Tour with Pick-up from Reykjavik: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Reykjavik.
How much does South Coast Sagas: Small Group Tour with Pick-up from Reykjavik cost?
+
Prices start at $169 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Reykjavik usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does South Coast Sagas: Small Group Tour with Pick-up from Reykjavik take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Reykjavik is not rushed.
Is South Coast Sagas: Small Group Tour with Pick-up from Reykjavik worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 88 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 676 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Reykjavik, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule South Coast Sagas: Small Group Tour with Pick-up from Reykjavik?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is South Coast Sagas: Small Group Tour with Pick-up from Reykjavik suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book South Coast Sagas: Small Group Tour with Pick-up from Reykjavik?
+
Around 237 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Reykjavik can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Reykjavik and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does South Coast Sagas: Small Group Tour with Pick-up from Reykjavik start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Reykjavik within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Reykjavik?
+
On Outty we rank every Reykjavik experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Reykjavik Food Walk - Local Foodie Adventure in Iceland, Small-Group Golden Circle, Blue Lagoon with Ticket & Kerid Crater, Reykjavík Small group Walking Tour - by CityWalk. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Reykjavik?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Reykjavik?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
