The Sound-and-Light-Show at Philae is like a symphony of illumination. One walks along, listening to a tape telling the legend about Isis, Osiris, Seth, Hathor, Horus, the Nile and the history of Philae. It is so beautiful, I could go there again and again. You have to take your time, it takes a while to listen to the tape while enjoying the changing of the lights. Only disadvantage: To visit the main temple inside and marvel at the beautiful reliefs at the walls, you will have to come during the day.

Temple and show awesome, tour guide not so much
So Philae Temple at night was beautiful. Taking the boat out on the Nile to get to the temple was awesome. My problem was with my guide. All he did was buy me the ticket and then wait for me after the show was going on. He didn't really guide me anywhere. That would have been ok, but then the next thing I know he's hitting me up for work off the books of the company. He's wanting to take me on separate tours the next day. I essentially said no, but he kept harassing me even the next day. When I capitulated and said I would be happy at least with a ride to the airport, he quoted me $65 for a trip that costs $30. Not cool. Anyways I don't blame the tour company. The guide should not be badgering customers though for additional tour work and then quoting some exorbitant fee for a ride to the airport when the previous night he said it would cost about $20.
Response from the operator: Dealing with this guide has been cut off permanently, madam, and he would have preferred to transfer us to us so that we can deal with him again with another punishment and we regret what happened to you

Is Sound and light show at Philae temple worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 45 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Aswan, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book Sound and light show at Philae temple?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Aswan can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?

What are the best things to do in Aswan?
+
On Outty we rank every Aswan experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 or 2 or 1 Nights Mighty Nile Felucca Adventure, 4-Day 3-Night Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor - Private Tour, 4-Day 3-Night Nile Cruise from Aswan to Luxor&Abu Simbel+Balloon. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Aswan?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Aswan?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
