1. L'Horloge D'Essaouira

   As the light begins to drop towards the ramparts, Essaouira takes on an entirely different rhythm. Fishermen have already returned with the day's final catch, charcoal grills spring into life and the scent of spices drifts through the whitewashed medina. For centuries, this windswept port has been Morocco's gateway to the ocean, where Berber, Arab and European influences have shaped one of the country's most distinctive food cultures. 
Our evening feast begins beneath the famous Horloge d'Essaouira before exploring the harbour, hidden alleyways and local eateries through 15+ tastings led by our passionate foodie guides.

2. Essaouira Fishing Port

   Our first stop belongs to the Atlantic. We'll wander through Essaouira's famous fishing port as the iconic blue boats bob gently in the harbour after a day's work at sea. At a humble seafood shack, you'll sample whatever the ocean has delivered that day, from freshly shucked sea conch and sea urchin to a vibrant Moroccan-style citrus ceviche that perfectly captures the city's maritime soul. Before leaving the harbour, we'll pause at the spectacular Mogador viewpoint, where the crashing Atlantic, historic cannons and fortified sea walls create one of Morocco's most unforgettable coastal panoramas.

3. Medina of Essaouira

   Back inside the medina, we'll discover the everyday flavours that have sustained Moroccans for generations. Freshly griddled msemmen flatbread arrives alongside steaming bowls of harira, Morocco's famous tomato and lentil soup, a comforting staple enjoyed from breakfast through to late evenings. We'll snack on sticky local dates, an ingredient cultivated across North Africa for thousands of years and woven deeply into Moroccan cuisine, alongside plump olives and fragrant spice blends that perfume the narrow streets around us.

4. Medina of Essaouira

   In Morocco, pastries aren't reserved for dessert. Throughout the medina we'll stop to sample flaky chebakia, nut-filled peanut cigars and freshly fried sfenj, the country's beloved fried dough, still warm from bubbling oil. We'll also visit one of Essaouira's traditional communal ovens, the beating heart of every Moroccan neighbourhood for centuries. If timing is on our side, we'll prepare fresh Atlantic shrimp with spices and preserved lemons, cooked inside the same wood-fired ovens where local families continue baking their daily bread.

5. Fish Market

   The evening's finale begins at Essaouira's historic nineteenth-century fish market, where we'll choose fresh seafood straight from the day's catch before taking it to a nearby grill house. Here it will be transformed into smoky grilled Atlantic fish, rich calamari cooked in tomato sauce and perfectly charred seasonal vegetables, celebrating the simple cooking that has made Essaouira one of Morocco's greatest seafood destinations. No Moroccan feast ends without tea. We'll finish with delicate almond-filled gazelle horns, crumbly walnut ghriba biscuits and a glass of traditional royal mint tea before returning to Horloge d'Essaouira. More than a seafood tour, this is an evening spent discovering the flavours, traditions and maritime history that continue to define Morocco's Atlantic coast.

6. L'Horloge D'Essaouira
