    An unforgettable experience!

I know there is so much to see and do while staying in Italy, but this experience is not one that can be duplicated. You can't manufacture the warmth and love that fills this home, and the ease you feel sitting on that terrace. It comes from Federica and her family and the act of just slowing down for a bit. I asked Federica how she began these classes, and she stated that as a young girl she always knew she wanted to share this special place with the world. I am so glad she did, and I am even happier that I found it! We are a family of four and stayed in Nerano for a week, I was excited to find this activity and Federica was helpful from the start. She knew my children were young, so she ended up making picture frames for them to paint which she then printed their photos to place inside of. The flat surface was perfect for them, while my husband and I chose bowls to paint. Though I traveled with my kids, this is an activity I'd recommend to everyone. My husband, who works long hours, looked up at me at one point and said, "I can't believe how relaxing this is!" We were picked up by Simone, and after driving down roads you aren't sure a car will fit on, you'll make a left on to the beautiful property of Casa Alfonsina. Greeted with smiles and aperitivo (in hand painted table wear) with home made treats, like fresh apricot tart. Federica then explains the glazes and gives some inspiration for your piece. After painting, you'll enjoy a light lunch and home made wine- all the while enjoying the beautiful space. It was hard to leave this space, but when we did, it felt like leaving family. We departed with warm hugs, gifts and of course some extra food! I wish Federica and her family so much success, and I hope more people get to experience this beautiful space, just as she hoped as a young girl.

    Pottery, food and view.

One of the most memorable events of our trip. My daughters booked this for my birthday. Fredrica was amazing at teaching us pottery painting and hostess serving amazing food and beverages. And to top it off the view of Sorrento and the water was so beautiful and serene. Highly recommend.

    A blessed experience!

It was a wonderful experience! Simone picked us up by the train station and drove us to their home where we were met with wonderful homemade food, a BEAUTIFUL view, and an exceptional hostess. She taught us her love for ceramics and helped each one of us create a masterpiece to bring home. Their love for serving their guests was evident in all the details. You will not want to miss this unique experience.

A must for anyone visiting Sorrento! An experience even NON art lovers will enjoy!

An absolute MUST DO if traveling to Sorrento! What an amazing experience! Do not miss this! Federica invites all to her family’s private home and shares their little taste of paradise with anyone willing to pick up a brush and have some fun. I am so glad we booked this workshop with her. She made us feel so warmly welcomed with homemade treats her mother made from scratch as we overlooked the family farm and breathtaking coastline views. We had the privilege to get to know Federica and her boyfriend Simone who are both amazing artists that have a deep passion for preserving art and techniques so they don’t get lost in the times. She has a spark about her that is infectious and sets the tone for an amazing workshop atmosphere. The class was just us so it was intimate and tailored to our ideas! We got to pick an item to decorate which are all made by her. She took the time to explain the technique of glazing we were doing and was a great teacher in stepping in to show us what would work best for our individual ideas. With her coaching and patience, our pieces turned out even better than we had hoped for! I did this class with my parents as I met up with them from the states for a vacation. My mom and I both have a passion for art and were excited for this class. My dad on the other hand, bless his heart while he appreciates art is not as inclined and was quite frankly not looking as forward to this experience as my mom and I were. I honestly enjoyed watching his interactions with Frederica and the transformation of complete joy on his face as he tackled his piece more than anything else. He became “Mr.Michelangelo” and took pride in his scenic painting. He had the absolute best time and said he was so glad we did this activity. So even if you are not artistically inclined do not miss out on this opportunity! Federica & Simone’s passion for culture and the preservation of the arts is truly infectious! She even took special care to help make sure we got our pieces back in time so we didn’t have to have them shipped home. If you are only in Sorrento a few days I recommend booking this class in the beginning of your stay so there is enough time to get the piece glazed and back to you. This is The best souvenir you will purchase that comes with culture, scenic views, great people, great food and a fun creative experience!

Is Sorrento: Amalfi Coast Ceramic Class with Local Flavors worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Sorrento, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

How many days do you need in Sorrento?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
