This was a great way to...
This was a great way to get a feel for the island and see a lot of beautiful scenery while covering a nice amount of distance! Our tour guide was Richard, and he was fabulous and knowledgeable! we thoroughly enjoyed this tour.

A wonderful adjusted tour
We didn't really take the tour as offered due to my wife's disability with walking. But, the tour operator and our guide Richard did a wonderful job of adjusting and showing us a full day of sites up the east coast of the island including the waterfalls. This was great. They even provided a wheelchair for the waterfall hike so we could get my wife there. I cannot say enough good things about how we were treated and how they accommodated us.

Alan was very engaging and fully immersed us in the history and culture of Vancouver Island. He was able to take us to out of the way spots to see things that would have been otherwise missed.

Wonderful Tour - Great Tour Guide
Alan did a superb job guiding us into the beautiful back country and to the western shores of Vancouver Island. He was everything you'd want in a tour guide: knowledgeable, flexible, personable and a very safe driver. We are an older couple and weren't up to walking long distances, so Alan tailor-made the tour for us that was easy on our knees and yet encompassed all the breathtaking sights the region has to offer. We have been on many good private tours over the years, but this one was right there at the top of the list of favorites for us. We highly, HIGHLY recommend Alan and Surfside Adventure Tours.
Response from the operator: Hi Bobbi, Thank you so much for your fantastic review! It was a pleasure guiding you through the beautiful backcountry and western shores of Vancouver Island. I’m delighted to hear that you enjoyed the tour and found it comfortable and enjoyable. Your kind words mean a lot to me, and I’m thrilled that this tour is among your favorites. It was wonderful spending the day with such a delightful and smiling couple. Thank you for highly recommending Surfside Adventure Tours. I look forward to welcoming you on another adventure in the future! Best, Alan Surfside Adventure Tours

Excellent time with Alan from SurfSide Tours
We had two day tours back-to-back with Alan at SurfSide Tours and they were the highlight of our vacation! (The other tour was named "The Ultimate Group Package Tour of Victoria.") As parents, we found Alan to be friendly, conscientious, interesting, informed, and intelligent. Our kids (14 and 11 yo) describe him as fun, caring, knowledgeable, funny, happy, and a good storyteller. We lucked out with perfect weather and this tour fulfilled my daughter's lifelong dream to visit tide pools (we're from South Dakota). We spent about an hour and a half at Botanical Beach taking pictures of the waves and tiny ecosystems on the beach, but all the other stops were beautiful, too. Right when he picked us up at our hotel, Alan said he had a "surprise" for my daughter that day... and sure enough, a couple hours later, he caught a lizard at Lizard Lake that she instantly fell in love with! Alan just made everything work out so well; I can't think of anything that could have been better!
Response from the operator: Hi David, Thank you so much for your incredible review! I’m delighted to hear that the back-to-back tours were the highlight of your vacation. It was truly a pleasure to guide your family and share some of Victoria’s hidden gems with you. I’m especially happy that I could make your daughter’s dream of visiting tide pools come true and that she enjoyed the surprise at Lizard Lake. (The next group was not that much lucky:) Your description of me as friendly, conscientious, and knowledgeable, and your kids’ comments about me being fun and a good storyteller, really made my day. It sounds like you all had a fantastic time, and I’m glad we could capture some great memories together. I hope to see you and your family back in Victoria for more adventures in the future! Warm regards, Alan Surfside Adventure Tours

Sooke to Port Renfrew: Wild Pacific Adventure: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vancouver Island.
How much does Sooke to Port Renfrew: Wild Pacific Adventure cost?
+
Prices start at $1090 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vancouver Island usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sooke to Port Renfrew: Wild Pacific Adventure take?
+
Plan for about 8.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vancouver Island is not rushed.
Is Sooke to Port Renfrew: Wild Pacific Adventure worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vancouver Island, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sooke to Port Renfrew: Wild Pacific Adventure?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sooke to Port Renfrew: Wild Pacific Adventure suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sooke to Port Renfrew: Wild Pacific Adventure?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vancouver Island can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vancouver Island and add a light layer if any part of the 8.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sooke to Port Renfrew: Wild Pacific Adventure start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vancouver Island within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vancouver Island?
+
On Outty we rank every Vancouver Island experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Victoria Guided Food and History Tour, Victoria Whale and Wildlife Cruise, Victoria Half-Day Whale Watching Adventure with Free Photos. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vancouver Island?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vancouver Island?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
