The best way to wine tasting!
We've used this company before and they do not disappoint! Our guide was extremely knowledgeable of the area and history. She was also very personable. We went to 3 boutique wineries and all were delicious! We will continue to use them when we visit again. I highly recommend this company .

Want a unique memorable experience?
Karina was amazing and knowledgeable. It was a fun and educational few hours for my cousin and I, as well as another couple on the tour. From the explanation of the area to the choice of vineyards, it was well worth the money. The hosts/owners were friendly and engaging. I highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and memorable experience.

Wine tour for wine enthusiasts
What a great experience. Karina, my operator, picked me up directly at the place I was staying in Los Olivos. I was the last pickup, as the wineries we went to were not too far from Los Olivos. This was a small group tour, so a maximum of 8 people were on this tasting. There was a nice mix of people on this tour, and as a solo traveler it is always nice to get to talk with people from all over. We went to two outdoor wineries and tasted some beautiful wines, first at Piazza Famiy Wines and then Alma Rosa Vineyards. Both places we tasted a wide range of wines that do well in the Santa Ynez Valley, from Pinot Noir to different whites and also Grenache. At the second stop we had an outdoor lunch consisting of sandwiches we all pre-ordered. Very delicious locally prepared food. The last stop was at Barbieri and Kempe Wines at their Buellton production facility where we had a tasting with Master Sommelier Paolo Barbieri. Truly a fantastic way to end this tour with a master somm!! I highly recommend this tour to anyone who really appreciates wine. I would definitely do this tour again.

Intimate and Epic Santa Barbara Wine Tour
I just finished my fifth tour with Sustainable Wine Tours, and somehow each experience is even better than the last. They are truly incredible at what they do. Every tour is thoughtfully personalized to your specific taste in wine, and the small group size (never more than seven people) makes it feel intimate, relaxed, and special from start to finish. What really sets them apart is the exclusive access--you're not just visiting typical tasting rooms open to the public. You actually sit down with the winemakers, hear their stories, and learn about the craft in a way that feels authentic and memorable. On this most recent tour, we even had the unique experience of tasting at a private home, which made the day feel extra special. The details are what elevate everything. Lunch is beautifully served on real plates with linen napkins and a tablecloth--such a thoughtful touch. Along the way, we enjoyed a delicious cheese plate, and the day ended with a perfectly paired chocolate tasting. It's clear they put so much care into every part of the experience. As if that weren't enough, they surprised me with a beautiful wine book as a thank-you for booking my fifth tour--such a meaningful and personal gesture. I can't recommend Sustainable Wine Tours enough. It's not just a wine tour, it's a curated, behind-the-scenes experience you simply won't find elsewhere. I'll absolutely be back again.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Santa Barbara.
How much does Small-Group Wine Tasting Tour of Santa Barbara Wine Country cost?
+
Prices start at $235 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Santa Barbara usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Small-Group Wine Tasting Tour of Santa Barbara Wine Country take?
+
Plan for about 0 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Santa Barbara is not rushed.
Is Small-Group Wine Tasting Tour of Santa Barbara Wine Country worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 70 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 66 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Santa Barbara, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Small-Group Wine Tasting Tour of Santa Barbara Wine Country?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Small-Group Wine Tasting Tour of Santa Barbara Wine Country suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Small-Group Wine Tasting Tour of Santa Barbara Wine Country?
+
Around 23 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Santa Barbara can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Santa Barbara and add a light layer if any part of the 0-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Small-Group Wine Tasting Tour of Santa Barbara Wine Country start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Santa Barbara within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Santa Barbara?
+
Santa Barbara runs wine tours into the Santa Ynez Valley, harbour sailing and whale watching, Channel Islands day trips, and Spanish colonial walking tours through the Presidio and Mission. Tasting-room access and group size make the biggest difference in wine tours here. On Outty we rank every Santa Barbara experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Santa Barbara Electric Bike Tour, Kayak Tour of Santa Barbara with Experienced Guide, Small-Group Wine Tour in Santa Barbara to Exclusive Vineyards. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Santa Barbara?
+
March to June and September to November, dodging the May and June marine layer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Santa Barbara?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
