What you'll see and do
The tour guide will meet you at one of the most iconic plazas of Madrid to start our tour. Please plan accordingly to arrive on time, even plan on arriving 10 minutes early. Planning on early arrival ensures that you can start the tour without feeling rushed. We would love to have a chat with you while waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. After the introductions, we will cover a brief history of tapas and explain how the itinerary for the night will work. Our journey will officially start to wander to the first location, located just meters from the plaza; where you will be able to try some delicious Spanish wines, beer, or a very special vermouth. This Tavern will amaze you from the moment of entry. The decor is unique, the staff is friendly and super attentive and the food is even better! The food is catered to a private menu made specifically for this tour and is adaptable to most palates and dietary restrictions. Please advise us on allergies or dietary restrictions.

Literary Quarter (Barrio de Las Letras)
After we have had our fun at the first location, we will start heading to Barrio De Las Letras (Literary Quarter), home to some of the most famous poets and playwrights in History (Including the legendary Cervantes!). While this neighborhood is famous for literature, our focus will be on food. The rest of the tour will occur in this district and our goal will be realized in making you happy and full! From locally made wines, local beers and even more will be available to quench your thirst and as for the food, we'll let it speak for itself. What a food tour without dessert! We will finish the tour with some sweeter options that are made in the most iconic places in Madrid. One of the options has even won awards for Best of Madrid! We are quite confident that this tour will fill you up. Not just with food, but with the joy that our team hopes to bring showing you around.

Incredible Gastro Tour for food sensitive couple
My husband and I have allergies to ingredients that are very common in Spain. Enrique took us to the most amazing Tapas bars and restaurants, spoke with the chefs, and created the most wonderful gastro tour we've ever experienced. So many amazing tastes! We highly recommend this tour!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much. We had a wonderful time.
via Tripadvisor
Very good experience
We did a gastronomic tour visiting traditional bars in central Madrid. We tried different typical tapas, all very good. Enrique was our guide and we had a great time, he also told us very interesting things about the bars.
Response from the operator: Muchísimas gracias.

Exactly What We Wanted as an Introduction to Madrid and its Food
Enrique provided the perfect tour of central Madrid for what we wanted. We had asked for a slightly shortened duration due to a long travel day prior to the tour but it was so interesting that we ended up staying for the original time allotment. Enrique knows the history and sites very well and he knew the best stops for tapas along the way. We highly recommend this tour.

This was a fantastic tour, with an excellent guide.
My husband and I had a great afternoon with Enrique learning about the history of Madrid, with a few stops along the way for delicious food which broke up the walking tour. It was a great flow, and balance of history and culture.

Why this scores 54
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Small Group Tapas Tour in Madrid: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.
How much does Small Group Tapas Tour in Madrid cost?
+
Prices start at $95 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Small Group Tapas Tour in Madrid take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.
Is Small Group Tapas Tour in Madrid worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 54 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Small Group Tapas Tour in Madrid?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Small Group Tapas Tour in Madrid suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Small Group Tapas Tour in Madrid?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Small Group Tapas Tour in Madrid start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Madrid?
+
On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Madrid?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Madrid?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
