Excellent private tour guide
Very good experience on the tour. The guide George, who is also the company owner, is super passionate. He first drove us to a lake, lit a fire and used a professional camera to detect changed in the solar activity. While he made us coffee, hot chocolate and veggie soup, the northern lights gradually appeared. Everyone was happy and excited with the light displays , and when we thought that we had see everything and planned to leave, George predicted further light storm activity was brewing and advised us not to give up on chasing the lights. He then brought us to a mountain to catch more borealis activity. Finally, we ended up seeing the most beautiful aurora!!! He was informative and took great photos for us too!! Highly recommended for an intimate experience!

Pictures included? Nah
Great experience until I realized that the picture files are not given to you after the tour. You can only access compressed versions unless you pay an exorbitant amount. Around $25 for one picture file. You pay a lot of money and then they ask for even more money for the pictures. Really disappointing.

Excellent Aurora Chase with George
The goal of my trip to Tromsø was to see the Northern Lights, so I made an exhaustive research for the best tour. I was looking for a small group and a guide who could take us to Finland if necessary. I looked over lots of reviews and reddit forums and I finally decided to book with Boreal Quest, which was an excellent decision. George is a great guide, he cares about the group and is really passionate about the Northern Lights. He knows where to go depending on the weather, and also keeps contact with other guides so they can help each other to find good spots. The van was very comfortable and he drives smoothly. He explained the plan for the night and answered our questions, he has a good knowledge about the aurora, the weather, the geographical area, and how to take photos of the lights. He also was taking care of our comfort and safety. The lentil soup was delicious and the hot chocolate and cookies next to the fire were good to fight the cold weather. We didn't need them but he also has thermal suites and hand/foot warmers. Quickly after we arrived to the spot with clear sky, we started to see the lights. It was an amazing and incredible experience. Sometimes he was telling us to look to a certain point because there the lights were going to be more intense. He took as many pictures of us as we wanted. At the end of the tour, he left us at the door of our accomodations. When I'm going back to Tromsø I will book another tour with him for sure!

Magic of the night sky!
Traveling with George to view the Northern Lights was comparable to traveling with a great friend who wanted to share his passion and knowledge for the magic in this world. It was an extraordinary experience to leave the rain and overcast skies in Tromsø, Norway to arrive in Finland under a night sky filled with the choreographic dance of the colorful Northern Lights. George went above and beyond to make sure that everyone was safe, comfortable, and had the best viewing experience possible. He was very knowledgeable of the local area and roads, and a very welcoming host with very tasty refreshments. The moon roof in the van allowed us to see the lights as we drove, which felt like a bonus. It truly was a highlight of my visit to Norway!

You won't regret it!!
I had been planning my Tromso northern lights trip for 8 months. I have sorted and read through every company online that is offering a trip to see the lights. It was endless narrowing down to find the right company that would fit my expectations of wanting a small group that is more personable, unique, and most importantly being able to actually see the northern lights not just a chance for it. After reading each of the websites fine line and sending emails to get to know each of the companies, I ended up choosing them after chatting and emailing with George. I just got the feeling it was the right one and I was surely not wrong. He answered all my questions and concerns I had for this trip especially since I was traveling with seniors. A day before my scheduled trip I was worried about the weather in Tromso, it didn't look promising. George reassured me not to worry. George was prompt at the meeting point, our group were introduced to one another and he gave us a rundown of the schedule and what to expect. You can tell he was a seasoned guide and his expertise is unmatched. We drove north-west where he found nice spot to set a campfire, weather was decent where we did not need the jumpsuits although they were prepared for us along with hand warmers. We sat and waited while he set up his camera as well as the drinks and hot food that he prepared. He guided us through and made sure we were patient till "Finally" the lights showed up. The lights were bursting along with the blanket of stars were once in a lifetime experience and surely George also captured it on his professional camera which he kindly emailed them to us. Having been on many guided tours all across Europe, Boreal quest was just different from the start and its George that makes the difference. His enthusiasm and passion to show us the northern lights at all costs is priceless.
