Great day — more than a manatee tour!!
I had very low expectations, since it we went outside of peak manatee season, but we were very lucky and pleasantly surprised to see a mother and a calf in a relatively clear area. We got to observe them closely. My 8 year old was uncomfortable with the dark water, so the guide took us to three sisters springs where we were able to explore, swim and see plenty of wildlife. We were so lucky. Our little one loved the clear water of Three Sisters. Our in water guide, Celeste, was wonderful and Captain Dave was great as well! Really fun and far exceeded our expectations.

10/10 Experience - Manatees, Turtles & More
An amazing immersive experience with enthusiastic and friendly staff who are passionate about the wildlife in the area! We had such a great time with Celeste and Cpt. Dan, they were so knowledgeable about not only the manatees but also the other wildlife in the area! They so clearly care about the wellbeing of all the wildlife in the area and were filled with facts for us! As we came in May, the waters werent as clear as youd expect to see in winter. However, Celeste made this clear to us and we still saw around 5 manatees across a number of locations! Up close and personal! Visiting from England, the guys made extra effort to find and show us gators and turtles in the wild too - which was so cool! Despite the sandy/murky waters, Celeste got some beautiful shots of us with the manatees and other wildlife we dont have at home. We also got to swim in the clearer springs and got some cool diving shots. An awesome memory and not one to be missed! For three hours of fun with a team who WANT to be there and are super hospitable, I would recommend to anyone thinking of going on this tour! Liv & Jamie - Clophill, England 🏴

Meh
It’s in a residential area, not out in nature. Due to the dates we did not go to the clear springs, we were in murkier waters with just a few manatees. It would have been nice to know that ahead of time (when booking)

Murky manatees
Captain Paul and swim guide Celeste put us on the last manatees in King’s Bay. We went late in the season so the water was already warmed up so the manatees had already left. The water was super murky but Celeste was able to find a couple for us to have an encounter. Also showed us a spring. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will be back again (earlier in the season)

Small group Manatee Tour with In-Water Divemaster/Photographer: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Crystal River.
How much does Small group Manatee Tour with In-Water Divemaster/Photographer cost?
+
Prices start at $99 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Crystal River usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Small group Manatee Tour with In-Water Divemaster/Photographer take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Crystal River is not rushed.
Is Small group Manatee Tour with In-Water Divemaster/Photographer worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 83 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 766 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Crystal River, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Small group Manatee Tour with In-Water Divemaster/Photographer?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Small group Manatee Tour with In-Water Divemaster/Photographer suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Small group Manatee Tour with In-Water Divemaster/Photographer?
+
Around 268 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Crystal River can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Crystal River and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Small group Manatee Tour with In-Water Divemaster/Photographer start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Crystal River within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Crystal River?
+
Crystal River is the one place in Florida with permitted in-water manatee tours: early-morning snorkel trips into Three Sisters Springs, scalloping in summer and spring-fed kayak paddles. On Outty we rank every Crystal River experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 Hour Small Group All Inclusive Manatee Swim with free Photo pkg, Guided Small Group Manatee Snorkeling Tour with In-Water Photographer, Most Popular 3hr Manatee Swim Tour + In-Water Guide!. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Crystal River?
+
November to March for manatee season, July to September for scalloping. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Crystal River?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
