Friendly driver and a comfortable van!
All that you want for a trip is all here! Friendly driver and a comfortable van, with added Xmas gifts as well! Wonderful! Balazs our very friendly driver gave some historical overview of Austria while on our way to Hallstatt. We went to the church where Van Trapp and Maria got married in the sound of Music and also we went to the small quaint village where the mother of Mozart lived. The highlight is the magnificent sight of Hallstatt! It was a long trip as I expected but it is all worth it with stops in between. We went to St Wolfgang Xmas market with the amazing candle on the lake! Fabulous market! Will definitely recommend this tour company to friends! Thank you Balazs!

Hallstatt + xmas market day tour
We had peter as our driver/guide and he was courteous and organized. We felt safe and in good hands throughout. The itinerary was well planned and we thoroughly enjoyed our day. Highly recommended for people who wants to explore the lake region with a touch of xmas

Hallstatt is amazing!!
This was a fantastic trip. Our tour guide, Ballash (I hope I've spelt that right) was professional, knowledgeable with a kind and soft nature. He told lots of stories of Vienna, Austria and Hallstatt that made the trip more enjoyable. Hallstatt itself is amazing! One of, if not the most picturesque places I have ever been too. It truely is one of those places and experiences that you might only get to do once in your life (we are from Australia). Hallstatt, via alligator tours, was a highlight for not only this trip that we are doing right now through Europe, but a highlight of any trip that I have done before. 5 stars!!

Excellent Day Trip
I just returned from a week's stay in Vienna where I took the Small Group Christmas Day Trip to Hallstatt with White Alligator Tours. This is a worthwhile day trip but note that it is a long day. For us that was ok. The Towns we stopped in before getting to Hallstatt were very charming. Hallstatt is beautiful and something I probably wouldn't have seen if not for this tour group. Peter our guide was very good and informative. Pick up at our hotel was prompt - I was told 645am and Peter was there at 645am. Communication with the company was excellent. I highly recommend this tour and tour company.

The best day of our two week trip!
We loved this day trip with Balazs (sp?)—super informative! The stops on the way to Hallstatt were absolutely gorgeous. Nice that you get a guide from Hallstatt to show you around once you arrive, but also a very decent amount of free time. We did the funicular and had lunch at the top—absolutely gorgeous view. Highly recommend!

Why this scores 64
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Small-Group Christmas Day Trip to Hallstatt from Vienna: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Vienna.
How much does Small-Group Christmas Day Trip to Hallstatt from Vienna cost?
+
Prices start at $200 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Vienna usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Small-Group Christmas Day Trip to Hallstatt from Vienna take?
+
Plan for about 13.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Vienna is not rushed.
Is Small-Group Christmas Day Trip to Hallstatt from Vienna worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Vienna, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Small-Group Christmas Day Trip to Hallstatt from Vienna?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Small-Group Christmas Day Trip to Hallstatt from Vienna suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 13.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Small-Group Christmas Day Trip to Hallstatt from Vienna?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Vienna can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Vienna and add a light layer if any part of the 13.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Small-Group Christmas Day Trip to Hallstatt from Vienna start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Vienna within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Vienna?
+
On Outty we rank every Vienna experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Authentic Vienna Food Tour inc. lunch, street food, 3 drinks, Vienna Food Tour: Coffeehouses, Markets, Lunch & Street Food, Budapest Small-Group Day Trip from Vienna. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Vienna?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Vienna?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
