informative, comfortable and enjoyable
This small group guided tour was well worth it, and I recommend to anyone interested in learning more about the Cappadocia area. We reserved a van for the 6 of us, and it was great to not have to share the guided tour with strangers. I appreciate that our tour guide,Mr. Uygar, arranged to have a more accommodating van for us than the one that was originally assigned to our group. He worked with us in tailoring the itinerary to what we preferred: Open Air Museum, Pigeon Valley, a local cave home and shop, a pottery demonstration (with the predictable shoping experience attached, but that was fine), Avanos and a great viewing site for some of the more visually stunning “fairy chimneys”. We were never rushed nor did we think we lingered too long at any given site. Our guide was very flexible with our preferences, and it made the whole experience that much more comfortable and easy. He also gave an excellent recommendation for us to visit the “Old Greek House” in Mustafapasa on our way out of town. Apparently this place is well known, but we’d never heard of it, so it was great that he recommended it for lunch. All in all, this was a great idea and it made the most of our visit.

Don't book it.
Don't waste your time with this company. Made the booking, no communication about the pick up. Didn't turn up to pick me up and I had to contact them via the hotel service and they sent a driver to pick me up and drop me off at a different location with a different tour guide with a totally different itinerary and when I refused, they finally contacted me via WhatsApp to offer a private guide. By this time, half a day was wasted. Really unprofessional service.

Great day
We had such a wonderful day on this tour. Our guide, Alp, was absolutely amazing. He is so knowledgeable about the area and you can tell how passionate he is about his job. He showed us the magic of Goreme and surrounding areas, the open air museum, and some gorgeous fairy chimneys. The visit to the carpet and pottery shops were actually very welcome. It was fun seeing how these beautiful crafts are made up close and there was no pressure to buy anything (though we did anyway!). It was nice to visit and not be intimidated, as well as to know you are buying the best quality items. The lunch was a miss for us, but not a big deal. Overall the day was perfect, and we feel like we gained some knowledge on this beautiful area thanks to Alp.

Snowy day!!!
Although we did not have the best weather Ali made it fun. He was well informed, funny and friendly. He engaged the entire group. We would book another trip with Ali when we return. Cons; The restaurant we went to was not good. Did not enjoy the food and when you enter the restaurant there was a terrible smell of urine and realized that is where the rest rooms are located.

Perfect way to spend a day in Cappadocia
Had a fantastic day with our guide Ali. Since we came in December our small group tour ended up being a private tour, which was a great experience. I think December is a good time to visit because there’s not a lot of people at the attractions and you can really take your time and not jostle for space. The weather is brisk but not cold and not hot like it would be in summer. Ali was informative and fun and told us a lot about the history and culture of the region as we went around exploring all the stunning views and historical sites. He also helped us book an alternate balloon because our original one was cancelled due to weather - so extra thank you to him for that. Perfect way to spend a day in Cappadocia.

Why this scores 73
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Small Group Cappadocia Red Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Goreme.
How much does Small Group Cappadocia Red Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $45 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Goreme usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Small Group Cappadocia Red Tour take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Goreme is not rushed.
Is Small Group Cappadocia Red Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 53 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Goreme, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Small Group Cappadocia Red Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Small Group Cappadocia Red Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Small Group Cappadocia Red Tour?
+
Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Goreme can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Goreme and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Small Group Cappadocia Red Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Goreme within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Goreme?
+
On Outty we rank every Goreme experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Red (North) Tour Cappadocia (small group) with lunch and tickets, Green (South) Tour Cappadocia (small group) with lunch and ticket, Cappadocia Green Tour - Classic Route (Popular). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Goreme?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Goreme?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
