Position: 37°29’22″N 25°18’52″E Always being a light to guide us even in our darkest hours if we only look for it on the horizon…. Ιts long history and its symbolic value, drives a lot of people spend hours gazing at the unique, craggy landscape of Armenistis from the courtyard of the lighthouse. The moment the purple sun sinks in the Aegean Sea, couples in love exchange kisses and professional and amateur photographers seek the one and only moment of eternity….

    1. Faros Armenistis

Armenistis Lighthouse (Faros Armenistis) built in 1891 stands in its silence, as a tribute to the rich maritime history of Mykonos island. Situated on the north-western part of the island, at Fanari area, around 6.5 kilometers from Chora (Mykonos town) on the north coast road of the island, the lighthouse overlooks the stretch of sparkling blue water between Mykonos and the neighboring island of Tinos. Its strategic position offers scenic views of the surrounding areas and is well worth visiting to get a sense of the island’s fascinating history and enjoy its spectacular beauty. The decision to build the Armenistis Lighthouse was prompted by the sinking of the British steamship Volta in 1887 off the north coast of the island. Eleven people lost their lives in that unfortunate incident. Steps had to be taken to avoid this type of tragedy from happening again, and by 1891 the 19 meter tall lighthouse was standing as a guiding beacon to incoming ships.

    Best sunset spot

The guide and driver were helpful and amazing! We were picked up at the cruise ship and taken to the lighthouse, where we had thoughtfully curated wine, fruit and nuts set up in the best spot to watch a beautiful sunset, followed by a scenic drive back to the cruise ship. Definitely recommend this excursion!

Make sure you will have a sunset

Would have been good on a warm night with a sunset. Unfortunately it was cold and cloudy. Thought we could have had a choice of wine - only red wine was offered and we are white wine drinkers.

    What a fantastic evening!!

This was a fantastic evening! My guide was very friendly, informative and explained the history behind the light house and the island and its surroundings so well. The transport to and from the tour was organised in advance and very good as well A Mykonian Sunset really is something that everyone should witness and experience during their lifetime, it truly is majestic! The Mykonian night sky is truly marvelous too. I had a fantastic time and would definitely recommend it to those visiting the Island. Thank you for making this experience so memorable!

Small-Group Armenistis Lighthouse Sunset Tour in Mykonos: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mykonos.

How much does Small-Group Armenistis Lighthouse Sunset Tour in Mykonos cost?

    +

Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mykonos usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Small-Group Armenistis Lighthouse Sunset Tour in Mykonos take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mykonos is not rushed.

Is Small-Group Armenistis Lighthouse Sunset Tour in Mykonos worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mykonos, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Small-Group Armenistis Lighthouse Sunset Tour in Mykonos?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Small-Group Armenistis Lighthouse Sunset Tour in Mykonos suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Small-Group Armenistis Lighthouse Sunset Tour in Mykonos?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mykonos can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mykonos and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Small-Group Armenistis Lighthouse Sunset Tour in Mykonos start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mykonos within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mykonos?

    +

On Outty we rank every Mykonos experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tour and Wine Tasting in Mykonian Land, Catamaran Day & Sunset Cruises with meals Drinks and transportation, Local Tour with Cruise/Hotel Pick-Up(Small Group or Private). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mykonos?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mykonos?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
