Humberto is an amazing tour guide… highly recommend!
What a great day!! Our tour guide Humberto was wonderful… on time, helpful, flexible, and accommodating. He shared an enormous amount of information about the area and Costa Rica in general. Our combo included a side-by-side ride and stop at a local farm. What a wonderful experience and we had a blast! Highly recommend!!!

Great Guide My Best Choice
We had an absolutely wonderful day with Hiking Guanacaste during our trip to Costa Rica! We wanted to experience more than just the beaches, and this tour was one of the best decisions we made during our vacation. Our day started at Llanos del Cortés, which was even more beautiful in person. The waterfall and surrounding scenery were incredible, and it was a great way to start the day. We also had the opportunity to see sloths and learn about the wildlife and nature around us. Seeing them in their natural environment was definitely one of those moments we will remember from our trip. One of our favorite parts was having an authentic Costa Rican lunch. It felt very different from simply eating at a tourist restaurant, and everything tasted fresh and homemade. We really enjoyed getting to experience some of the local food and culture along the way. The coffee and chocolate experience was another highlight. We learned more about how coffee and cacao are produced and got to taste them along the way. It was really interesting, especially because we had never experienced anything like that before. And a huge thank you to our guide, Ian! He was fantastic from beginning to end. Ian was extremely knowledgeable about Costa Rica, including the wildlife, plants, history, and local culture. He was also very friendly and patient with our group and answered all of our questions. You could tell he genuinely loves his country and enjoys sharing it with visitors. This tour gave us a great mix of nature, wildlife, food, culture, and beautiful scenery all in one day. We came back with some great photos and even better memories. If you’re visiting Guanacaste and want to experience a different side of Costa Rica beyond the beaches, we highly recommend this tour with Hiking Guanacaste. And if you can get Ian as your guide, you are in great hands!

Pura vida Costa Rica⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐
We had such a great day with Hiking Guanacaste! We did the Llanos del Cortés waterfall, saw some amazing sloths, had a delicious local lunch, and finished with a coffee and chocolate experience. Every part of the day was well organized and felt very authentic. A special shoutout to José, who was an excellent guide. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience really enjoyable. He knew exactly where to look for wildlife and taught us a lot about the local plants, animals, coffee, and chocolate. You could tell he genuinely enjoys what he does. The waterfall was absolutely beautiful, and seeing the sloths up close was definitely one of the highlights of our trip. The coffee and chocolate experience was also really interesting and gave us a chance to learn more about Costa Rican culture and how everything is produced locally. If you’re visiting Guanacaste and want to experience more than just the beaches, I highly recommend this tour and especially recommend asking for José. It was a fun, relaxed, and memorable day from start to finish!

Asesores adventure
Llanos del Cortés was such a beautiful place to visit. The waterfall itself is impressive, but what really made this experience special was being able to combine it with the rainforest and the natural surroundings instead of simply stopping for a few pictures and leaving. The area around the waterfall is incredibly peaceful and green, and it gives you a completely different feeling from the beaches and more developed tourist areas of Costa Rica. Walking through the rainforest and taking the time to look around made us appreciate just how much biodiversity there is in this part of the country. One of the highlights was getting to see a sloth during the experience. Seeing wildlife in its natural environment is something that feels completely different from seeing animals in a zoo or sanctuary. It was one of those unexpected moments that made the day even more memorable. We also enjoyed learning more about Costa Rican nature and the local environment along the way. The experience never felt rushed, and there was enough time to actually enjoy each place rather than feeling like we were simply moving from one attraction to another. The tour company did a great job organizing everything and making the day easy and enjoyable. Transportation, timing, and the overall experience were handled very professionally. If you’re visiting Costa Rica and want to experience a beautiful waterfall while also getting a taste of the rainforest and local wildlife, Llanos del Cortés is definitely worth adding to your itinerary. It was a relaxing, beautiful, and genuinely memorable part of our Costa Rica trip.

Sloth, Coffee & Chocolate Experience with Waterfall Swimming: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Playa Flamingo.
How much does Sloth, Coffee & Chocolate Experience with Waterfall Swimming cost?
+
Prices start at $155 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Playa Flamingo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Sloth, Coffee & Chocolate Experience with Waterfall Swimming take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Playa Flamingo is not rushed.
Is Sloth, Coffee & Chocolate Experience with Waterfall Swimming worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Playa Flamingo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Sloth, Coffee & Chocolate Experience with Waterfall Swimming?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Sloth, Coffee & Chocolate Experience with Waterfall Swimming suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Sloth, Coffee & Chocolate Experience with Waterfall Swimming?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Playa Flamingo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Playa Flamingo and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Sloth, Coffee & Chocolate Experience with Waterfall Swimming start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Playa Flamingo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Playa Flamingo?
+
On Outty we rank every Playa Flamingo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Flamingo, Guanacaste All Inclusive Catamaran Snorkel Adventure, Flamingo Family Fun Catamaran Snorkel:Comfortable shaded seating, Snorkeling and Sunset Catamaran Cruise from Tamarindo. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Playa Flamingo?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Playa Flamingo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
