Sleeping Train Tickets from Cairo to Aswan

Want to experience taking a train from 1930’s

This experience is similar to travel by train 100 years ago. There is little to no maintenance for the cars/train. The double sleepers are supposed to be non smoking, guess what (guest smokes making difficult to sleep). Besides the conductor in each car smoke the 13 hours that takes from Cairo To Aswan, for comparison purposes is like prohibiting smoking on an airplane, but the cabins crew is allowed to to smoke. It is priceless the experience and not necessarily on the positive side. Finally the location showing in the Viator app is not correct, let’s say Viayor has opportunity to greatly improve the customer experience. Finally thank good our driver accompanied us to take the train, there is little to none tourist culture in Egypt

The Egyptian Night Train: A Very Good Experience

Perfect experience. The resa on the Abela site sometimes requires repeating several times. Then the service is equal or even superior (sleeping with real duvet and mattress, very clean) than the Italian night train. Good and classic food of this type of transport. Very nice staff.

Expensive and way under standard

We booked this thinking it would be fun for our daughter, falling asleep in one city and waking up in another, but frankly, it was awful. The beds were uncomfortable, the cabins were filthy - on the return we took cleaning products to clean it ourselves. The worst thing though is the appalling state of Egyptian rail and trains. On the way out of Cairo none of us slept because the train was honking all night and the windows were cracked so provided no sound insulation. On the way back there was a problem with the brakes so every time the train came to stop, which was far more often than there are stops, we received a big jolt that felt like it would tip me out of bed. The toilets are disgustingly - no soap, not been cleaned. The food provided is dreadful. The windows are filthy so you can barely see out of some of them. We were charged about $700 for the round trip for a family of three - which is frankly daylight robbery.

Nice experience

Very nice experience. We had a nice time at the bar with friends. The meals were correct and the person responsible for our car very friendly.

Outstanding experience

The train trip was very good! We already knew that the cabins were compact and that the bathroom was shared by wagon, so we were ready. The staff was very attentive throughout the journey and, for my 8-year-old son, it was an incredible and unforgettable experience.
