You'll step back in time at the ancient Roman city of Heraclea Lyncestis near Bitola, where remarkably preserved mosaics and ruins bring antiquity to life. In Prilep, discover a city renowned for its tobacco production and its close proximity to the legendary Marko's Towers, hinting at medieval tales of kings and fortresses. Finally, ascend to Krusevo, the highest town in the Balkans, a place steeped in the spirit of Macedonian resistance and home to the striking Makedonium monument. On the way back towards Skopje, you may choose to stop in one of the wineries in the Central Part of Macedonia (in the proximity of the Archeological site of Stobi, or Chateau Sopot on the hills by Lake Mladost.
