What you'll see and do

  1. Museo Frida Kahlo

THE BLUE HOUSE The Blue House is the intimate universe of Frida Kahlo. She spent most of her life here, first with her family and, years later, with Diego Rivera. Interesting national and foreign characters were hosted here, attracted by the magnetism of both painters. Frida and Diego wanted to leave their house as a museum for the enjoyment of all Mexicans. Upon the painter's death, the couple's friend, the museumman and poet Carlos Pellicer, planned the museumography. The administration was entrusted to the Trust of the Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo Museums, attached to the Bank of Mexico and constituted by Rivera himself in 1957.

  2. Museo Diego Rivera Anahuacalli

The Anahuacalli Museum is unique. The only pity is that international visitors don’t tend to come here until their third or fourth visit to The City. Entirely conceived by Diego Rivera, it is a complete setting for his own collection of pre-Hispanic artworks. But it is also a temple to celebrate architecture, music, craftsmanship and theatre, and all in a carefully crafted natural environment.

Scam

Viator sells this Frida Kahlo Museum experience as including “skip-the-line tickets,” and each ticket was $20+ more than the normal price. Once you arrive, though, there is no actual skip-the-line access—you still have to wait like everyone else. The Frida Kahlo home itself was a really cool experience and definitely worth visiting, but don’t buy your tickets through Viator. Buy them directly and save your money.

First Timers for Frida

Book tickets far in advance to get the time you need. I booked a 2:30 pm time slot and it was changed to 3:15 pm the day before. I sent a message but never got a reply as to why our time changed.

We booked tickets for 4pm...

We booked tickets for 4pm entry, and then got emailed 4:45pm tickets. As a result, it was impossible for us to go to Museo Frida Kahlo and Anahuacalli. They are 45 minutes away from each other and Anahuacalli closes at 5:30pm, so there was no way for us to do both.

Horrible

I am very upset. I could not get the tickets, no one answered and Viator was completely u helpful. I am very disappointed and will be escalating.

Dishonest broker don't use, buy tickets directly from the museum or don't go

Vendor lied and sent me tickets for 45 mins after my start time. Viator hid behind legalese and hung me out to dry.

Skip The Line Tickets To The Frida Kahlo Museum: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.

How much does Skip The Line Tickets To The Frida Kahlo Museum cost?

+

Prices start at $589 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Skip The Line Tickets To The Frida Kahlo Museum take?

+

Plan for about 0.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.

Is Skip The Line Tickets To The Frida Kahlo Museum worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 24 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (2.4/5 across 78 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Skip The Line Tickets To The Frida Kahlo Museum?

+

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Skip The Line Tickets To The Frida Kahlo Museum suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Skip The Line Tickets To The Frida Kahlo Museum?

+

Around 27 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 0.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Skip The Line Tickets To The Frida Kahlo Museum start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Mexico City?

+

On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Mexico City?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Mexico City?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
