    An excellent excursion and...

An excellent excursion full of Roman history. The guide very friendly and clear. An activity that is complemented by the city of Napoli. Cheers!

Response from the operator: ¡Muchas gracias por tus bonitas palabras!

Pompei was great everything else lackluster

The overall experience was great. There were just a few things that could have been better in my personal opinion. The tour said start time 8am, we were there 10 min early and had to wait for the remaining passengers who were late. There should be a cut of time so the tour can get started on time. After we got on the bus we then waited another 15min for more people to get on. We made one stop to pick up more people so another 15 min or so, this was not mentioned in the listing that there would be multiple stops to get people. Then we were on our way to Pompei, the young lady that was our guide on the bus , talked way too fast and we couldn’t understand her when she was explaining things. She then switched to another language and repeated everything she said again. That was also not mentioned in the listing, it said whichever language more then half the passengers where that’s what it was. So we get to Pompei and get switched to a different tour guide. He was excellent, great sense of humor and very knowledgeable. The actual tour part was great, everything else was a little disappointing. Over all the whole tour from picking us up to dropping us off was almost 5hrs. The listing says 3hrs. Just an fyi if anyone is looking to book this tour.

Response from the operator: Dear Narita, thank you for taking the time to write this review. We appreciate your feedback. Our tours are offered in multiple languages; we ask passengers for their preferred language to ensure they have a multilingual tour leader to assist them. Therefore, the onboard commentary, being an auxiliary service, may be available in multiple languages. The tour guide inside the Pompeii ruins, however, is dedicated to a single language group, as this is the core of the service offered. Unfortunately, we cannot provide detailed travel times to/from Naples, as they are subject to current traffic conditions and are unpredictable. Therefore, we ask our cruise ship guests for their embarkation/disembarkation times to best assist them and avoid inconvenience. We assure you that we will make every effort to communicate these details better in the future, and we appreciate your feedback.

Well worth paying for a guided tour!

We had an excellent guide, Valentina was knowledgeable and helpful, she used humour and really brought to life what we saw. I saw lots of people walking around without a guide, but I have to say that the crowds were phenomenal, so hiring a guide was most useful because Valentina knew exactly where to go and how to avoid the crowds where possible. This made a massive difference as the site is enormous. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

Skip the Line Pompeii Guided Tour from Naples: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Naples.

How much does Skip the Line Pompeii Guided Tour from Naples cost?

    +

Prices start at $61 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Naples usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Skip the Line Pompeii Guided Tour from Naples take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Naples is not rushed.

Is Skip the Line Pompeii Guided Tour from Naples worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 64 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Naples, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Skip the Line Pompeii Guided Tour from Naples?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Skip the Line Pompeii Guided Tour from Naples suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Skip the Line Pompeii Guided Tour from Naples?

    +

Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Naples can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Naples and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Skip the Line Pompeii Guided Tour from Naples start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Naples within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Naples?

    +

On Outty we rank every Naples experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Private Amalfi Coast Tour from Sorrento/Naples/Salerno, Caserta Royal Palace & Gardens Small Group Tour with Shuttle, Naples Pizza and Tiramisu Cooking Class. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Naples?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Naples?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
