Great Experience in Madrid
All three places included on this tour were fantastic and “authentic”. All tour guides were knowledgeable and very friendly. All were helpful in giving succinct and good directions to the next location. Be aware that we had to arrive at Retiro Park (gorgeous!), then take the metro by ourselves to the palace, then walk to the restaurant for tapas. We are pretty seasoned travelers, so we’re not deterred that we had to maneuver parts of the tour ourselves.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your review. We hope to come back soon!

Unless you know how to navigate Downotwn Madrid on your own, stay away from this tour!
This tour is the collection of two or maybe three activities completly unrelated. Each one has its own guide, its own set of clients and its own operator, leaving the client to navigate, on its own, from one activity to the next one. At the end of a nice visit to the Retiro Park, the guide left us to go on our own to the start point of the next activity. Not knowing much about downtown Madrid we took a taxi that took forever to reach the Isabel II explanade, a very large expanse and we couldn't locate the next guide in time. The messages from the second operator where followe by a large privacy legalese text on privacy which made dificult to read. As I mentioned before missed the staart of the tour and we had to do the visit on out own, which by the way was very easy to do. Of course the tour operator refused to refund th unused part. My advice is that unless you know how to navigate on your own downtown Madrid, avoid this tour like the plague!
Response from the operator: Good morning, we are sorry you missed the Royal Palace part of the tour, when you finish the visit to the Retiro Park our guide gives you exact instructions of the next meeting point for the Royal Palace and the starting time, so we don't understand what could have happened to you to miss it. However, we always put at your disposal our customer service phone number to help you find the guide. The operator of both tours is the same, and most of the time the same guide does both tours. Thank you, we are sorry for the inconvenience, Regards

Una ESTAFA / SCAM
Ni prestaron el servicii y NO DEVOLVIERON EL DINERO. UNA ESTAFA. NO DESPERDICIEN SU DINERO. They did not provide the service and did not return the money. A TOTAL SCAM. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY
Response from the operator: Dear, the tour has a start time as it is a tour with more people and has to start at the stipulated time. The Royal Palace has fixed schedules to control the capacity and our group tickets are for a fixed time so we can only give 5 to 10 minutes of courtesy to customers who arrive late but no more minutes as we lose those tickets. We always try to help the customers but we can't hurt the rest of the group and lose the tickets. We are sorry for the inconvenience. Thank you, Regards

Disappointing!
We have nothing negative to say about the guide. He did his best, but it was impossible. The group was too big! The palace too crowded! And the earpieces didn’t work well enough. There were 4 in our group, 3 got so frustrated they left. I stayed hoping ti get something out of it, but ended up very frustrated and disappointed. Unanimously it was our worst tour while in Madrid.

A bit below expectations!
Madrid is a stunning city that is definitely worth visiting. If you're planning to take a tour, I would recommend booking each location separately or exploring on your own, as this is how I felt during my own tour. We had a tour guide for El Retiro Park and the Royal Palace, but we had to navigate between tours ourselves with very little time left for the tapas tasting. When we arrived at the restaurant, it seemed like they had no idea why we were there. We finally showed them our tickets, but the waiter was uninterested, to say the least, and the tapas were not very impressive - just some fried potatoes and shrimp. Nothing really stood out.

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Skip-the-line Madrid Royal Palace with tapas tasting & Retiro Park: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Madrid.
How much does Skip-the-line Madrid Royal Palace with tapas tasting & Retiro Park cost?
+
Prices start at $56 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Madrid usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Skip-the-line Madrid Royal Palace with tapas tasting & Retiro Park take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Madrid is not rushed.
Is Skip-the-line Madrid Royal Palace with tapas tasting & Retiro Park worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 14 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Madrid, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Skip-the-line Madrid Royal Palace with tapas tasting & Retiro Park?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Skip-the-line Madrid Royal Palace with tapas tasting & Retiro Park suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Skip-the-line Madrid Royal Palace with tapas tasting & Retiro Park?
+
Around 5 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Madrid can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Madrid and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Skip-the-line Madrid Royal Palace with tapas tasting & Retiro Park start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Madrid within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Madrid?
+
On Outty we rank every Madrid experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Madrid Essential: Historic Center, Plaza Mayor & Royal Palace, Madrid Walking Tour from Puerta del Sol to Retiro Park, Madrid Oscuro: Torture, Ghosts, Crimes and Legends. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Madrid?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Madrid?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
