    2. The Alhambra

The Alhambra, located on the Sabica hill, is an Andalusian palatine city. Its name comes from the reddish colour of its walls, coming from the clay of the land itself (Al-Hamra in Arabic). It is formed by a group of palaces, gardens and fortress where there was a citadel within the city of Granada itself, its main function was to serve as accommodation for the monarch and the court of the Nasrid Kingdom of Granada. There are also Christian settlements, such as the palace of Charles V and the church of Santa Maria, built on top of the old mosque. It is one of the most visited monuments in Spain and was declared a World Heritage Site in 1984. Enjoy the visit with an official guide.

    4. Nasrid Palaces

The Nasrid Palaces, are a palace complex of the Alhambra of Granada formed by two independent palaces, the Palace of Comares and the Palace of the Lions, and annexes, Mexuar, its construction dates from the first third of the fourteenth century. The Alcázar or "Qasr al-Sultán" was the palace area of the Alhambra, the nucleus of the Nasrid kingdom. In this area resided the sultans, in addition to receiving an audience, dispachar the affairs of government or manage the administration of the court.

    6. Generalife

The Generalife is the villa with gardens used by the Muslim kings of Granada as a place of retreat and rest. It was conceived as a rural villa, where ornamental gardens, orchards and architecture were integrated in the vicinity of the Alhambra. The name we give to the Generalife complex literally means Yannat al-Arif: "The Architect's Garden", an allusion to the gardens and orchards that supplied fruit and vegetables to the Nasrid court. However, the palace to which we are heading, designed as a resting place for the monarch, was what the poet Ibn al-Jayyab called "the royal house of happiness".

    7. Palacio El Partal

El Partal integrates archaeological and architectural remains corresponding to palatine rooms. Its name in Arabic means portico, and refers to the remains of the residence of Sultan Muhammad III, the northernmost and oldest. In these gardens, you can see the remains of several palaces, as this area was inhabited by the Muslim nobility. The most important was the Palace of Yusuf III, with a floor plan similar to the Palace of Comares, sadly demolished in the 18th century. The Partal Gardens are an incredible place to stroll or stop during your visit to the Alhambra in Granada.

The Alhambra was magical. But the tour company was horrible.

The Alhambra is magical , but the tour organisation was simply horrible. This was our second time visiting and we wanted to tour the Alhambra with a guide. When we got to the TOP TOUR Kiosk to retrieve our tickets before proceeding to the entrance we had to wait in line for 20 minutes only to find out that our tour had been cancelled and that an email notifying us had been sent 30 minutes earlier. The agents were rude and acted like they did not care at all. We ended up touring the Alhambra with audio guides.

    No excuses, just do it!

Come curious about history, art, and life! Come even if it seems too hot, as 104°F seemed to us, arrived from Alaska 5 days ago. So happy we were on this tour!

Skip-the-Line Alhambra, Nasrid & Generalife Granada Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Granada.

How much does Skip-the-Line Alhambra, Nasrid & Generalife Granada Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $56 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Granada usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Skip-the-Line Alhambra, Nasrid & Generalife Granada Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Granada is not rushed.

Is Skip-the-Line Alhambra, Nasrid & Generalife Granada Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 61 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.2/5 across 775 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Granada, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Skip-the-Line Alhambra, Nasrid & Generalife Granada Tour?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Skip-the-Line Alhambra, Nasrid & Generalife Granada Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Skip-the-Line Alhambra, Nasrid & Generalife Granada Tour?

    +

Around 271 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Granada can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Granada and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Skip-the-Line Alhambra, Nasrid & Generalife Granada Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Granada within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Granada?

    +

On Outty we rank every Granada experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Granada: Sierra Nevada Safari tour up to 2500 meters high, Granada Tapas and Wine Small Group Tour, Granada: Albaicin and Sacromonte Segway Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Granada?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Granada?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
