Great overview of Santorini for people with limited time in the city. Our guide Alex was wonderful, knowledgeable, and attentive to all participants.

Fantastic Tour!

Our guide Alex was great and we loved all of the stops, especially the last two! The small village Megalochiro was really nice. I wish we had more time to spend in a few of the local shops. And the last stop for lunch and the black sand beach were great! The seafood at the restaurant was fantastic! I highly recommend this tour and Alex as your guide if possible to request!

A Lot of Santorini in Five Hourst

Our group included different types of travelers, and everyone wanted something slightly different from the day. Some wanted photographs, some were interested in history, and others mainly wanted to enjoy the scenery. Thankfully, the tour gave us a good mixture of everything. The skip-the-line access was particularly useful because the cable car queues were already long. Instead of losing valuable time at the port, we were able to get on with the sightseeing. We saw the classic Santorini villages with their whitewashed buildings and blue domes, enjoyed several beautiful viewpoints, and also visited areas with volcanic landscapes and beaches. The guide gave us useful background about the island without turning every stop into a long lecture. What we liked most was that the experience felt manageable within a cruise schedule. We didn't have to constantly check the time or worry about how to get from one place to another. By the end of the five hours, everyone in our group felt that we had seen a good variety of Santorini. It was a smooth, enjoyable day and a memorable part of our cruise.

Great tour to take for a cruiser! We were able to see most of Santorini in just a short time. Our guide and driver were great! We had plenty of time to wonder around Oia and get pictures!

Skip the Sky Tram Review

This review reflects the combined opinions of the four individuals who were scheduled for the 9:00 tour on September 14, 2026. This tour was cancelled due to the limited number of paid attendees, however, we weren’t aware until we arrived at the dock at 8:30, due to the fact that the four of us had no signal until we were in/near land. We were not given the option to cancel the tour for a refund, which would have been preferable. Instead, we were added to the 10:00 tour. That meant we were required to stand for an additional 60 minutes in a very crowd environment. Forget Skip the Sky Tram line, we were surrounded by the line. Also, the instructions for the meeting place were unclear because we were informed to meet by the palm trees, although there were palm trees at opposite ends of the extremely crowded dock. When the first tour guide Alex arrived he had difficulty locating the additional 14 people from the 10:00 group because they were also confused where to meet the tour guide. Alex became extremely frustrated as though this was their fault. While leading us to the pickup location because the dock was very crowded our combined group became separated and Alex had to backtrack to retrieve them. Next, when we were on our assigned vans we met Daniel our new tour guide. First impression is that we were happy that he was a very friendly American, and there would be no language difficulties. The second impression is that his appearance was disheveled and unprofessional looking. Additionally, Daniel spent a LOT of time talking about his family, and talking to shopkeepers, friends, and other tour guides, instead of providing more of the Santorini information we were eager to learn. In summary, I feel that this tour was handled poorly and I’d expect Viator to compensate us for the mismanagement of what should have been an enjoyable experience. I have received a text message from the tour operator requesting a review, to whom I have not responded. The Additional Information section of this tour description clearly states the following: “Please note that the pickup time may be adjusted in accordance with the ship’s actual arrival time and the tendering process.” The exact pickup time was communicated to you within Viator more than 24 hours before the tour start time. When booking online, we strongly recommend accessing your activity information in advance rather than at the last minute. 2. The Meeting and Pickup section clearly states the following: “Please look for a ‘JAT’ sign near the entrance to the cable car station, by the palm trees.” There is one entrance to the cable car station with palm trees. All the other palm trees on the island are unrelated to the pickup location. 3. If you do not feel comfortable waiting two minutes while our tour coordinator, Alex, is picking up your fellow cruisers who are attempting to find the meeting point, please consider booking a private rather than a shared tour. 4. Your criticism toward your countryman Daniel, who knows Santorini like the back of his hand, is puzzling. He is the owner of one of the most impressive collections of glowing reviews, received primarily from American travelers. As for the information provided, our guides are trained to share not only historical information, which some of your countrymen may find less interesting, but also information about the daily life of local people, including the guides’ own families and life on the island. In summary, when booking future activities through Viator, we strongly recommend basing your expectations on the published tour description, itinerary, and clearly stated meeting point rather than on personal assumptions Your refund request has been declined, as all services were provided exactly as advertised.
