Snacks and laughs

Nigel was a hoot. Great laugh and lots of fun. We toured with him through Singapore to get an intro to the city and followed up with a food tour to hawker stalls. Enjoyed the food and the conversation.

One Memorable and Unique Experience!

Nigel, aka Chubby Checker, gave us an amazing night tour of Singapore. The tour was entertaining, enlightening, and educational. A very unique walking tour that took us to the historical Lau Pa Sat for a genuine hawker experience, a scenic walk to the bay at night when the city is beautifully lit up, to a bar beside the river in their civic district for some drinks and live music, and lastly to a hidden speakeasy bar for some night cap. This is definitely one experience that should not be missed.

Response from the operator: Thank you for the review! It was a pleasure for us to host you for this multi-faceted night tour and we are glad you love the experience. Best wishes to you and your family!

There are better options

Understand that this is really more a tour about having a drink in a few different bars without the guide being present than it is about being on a normal food tour. Positives: Nigel our guide was lovely and engaging. We learned some things about Singapore in the limited time he spent with us. Negatives: Food wise, we sampled satay sticks with some rice from one vendor only. They were nice but I've not been on a food orientated tour before with only one food stop? Also, they are cheap: we bought some at a hawker market the next day for very little cost. Also, the allowance within our tour cost for drinks was $15 at each venue, but almost no alcoholic drink was within that price, so be prepared to pay more like $22 for a gin and tonic, so you pay the extra $7. Nigel left us to our own devices in each bar for 30 minutes or so which at one level was fine as we were a family group and there were no other participants. On the other hand, we learned nothing at all about Singapore during the time we had at each bar so there was no value add from the tour for a fair chunk of our time together: we could have walked into any bar ourselves and had that experience. Summary: While enjoyable, this was poor value for money and I couldn't recommend it. On a previous visit I experienced a more typical food tour that was much better than this one because of the food options.

Response from the operator: Thanks for the feedback, Lara. We have taken your feedback seriously and it is not our policy for our guides to leave guests at the bar on their own without first giving some information about the bars and why they are unique. We have checked with your guide, Nigel, and apparently the bars that night only had tables that accommodate a maximum of 4 persons, which would fit your travelling party just right. Furthermore, the first bar had a live band playing, and while it is great entertainment, it would be quite loud to talk at the table among your travelling party, more so with the guide. We would remind our guides to stay with guests in the second bar, provided there is a suitable seating arrangement. Last but not least, this tour is not a food tour per se, but it is a holistic tour of night views, food and drinks around the Marina Bay area that provide guests with a myriad of evening experiences. Furthermore, the bars we bring you to, do not have as many tourists as locals and so not many visitors to Singapore would know about them. We offer another tour specifically for local food tastings that there would much more food in that tour. Therefore, it seems this may be a mismatch of expectations, although it is very rare due to the tour description already providing an overview of it all. We understand your frustration but hopefully this gives you a better idea of the tour. We apologise if there is anything we fall short on, and we will remind our guides regarding this matter so we can continually improve. Thank you!

Singapore Nightlife: Street Food, Night Views and Drinks: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Singapore.

How much does Singapore Nightlife: Street Food, Night Views and Drinks cost?

+

Prices start at $132 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Singapore usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Singapore Nightlife: Street Food, Night Views and Drinks take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Singapore is not rushed.

Is Singapore Nightlife: Street Food, Night Views and Drinks worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Singapore, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Singapore Nightlife: Street Food, Night Views and Drinks?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Singapore Nightlife: Street Food, Night Views and Drinks suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Singapore Nightlife: Street Food, Night Views and Drinks?

+

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Singapore can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Singapore and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Singapore Nightlife: Street Food, Night Views and Drinks start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Singapore within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Singapore?

+

On Outty we rank every Singapore experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Singapore Highlights Small Group Bike Tour on Full-Sized Bicycles, Lion City Bike Tour of Singapore, Singapore River Cruise, Night Garden Rhapsody & Spectra by CYT. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Singapore?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Singapore?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
