An Absolute Highlight of Our Trip – Must-Do Food Tour with Kwang!
If you want to truly understand Singapore through its incredible food culture, book this tour with Hello Singapore! The food across the entire tour was phenomenal. We got to sample dishes from a wide variety of cultures and ethnicities, which was amazing on its own, but what made the experience so special was learning why those dishes exist. Hearing about the historical and cultural impact of the different immigrant communities gave us a whole new appreciation for the local cuisine. A massive thank you to our guide, Kwang! Kwang was extremely knowledgeable, respectful, and passionate about sharing the history and culture of Singapore. On top of guiding us through a fantastic itinerary, Kwang gave us some incredible local recommendations to use for the rest of our trip. Worth every bit of time and money, I’d recommend Kwang and Hello Singapore to anyone visiting!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review and kind words! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed discovering Singapore through its diverse food and culture. We'll be sure to pass your compliments on to Kwang Wei—he'll be thrilled to know he made your experience so memorable. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Singapore again in the future!

A tasty combination of food, culture, and history
2 of us had a wonderful tour with Priscilla as our guide through some of Singapore’s historically ethnic neighbourhoods, and of course, the food! Priscilla was a friendly and engaging guide, very knowledgeable and conscientious, always making sure we were comfortable and having great conversations the while time. The tour was well-paced, with good food at each stop, and time in between to digest while learning about Singapore’s history and various groups that immigrated and contributed to its distinct culture. We started hungry and left full, with a better understanding of how to order and eat everything from curry puffs, kaya toast, laksa, “carrot cake”, noodles (mee), curries, dosai, coffee (kopi), tea (teh) and sugar cane juice - freshly squeezed, among others. One of the interesting things about this tour was not only trying the food, but also seeing how some of it was prepared, as well as learning the unique blend of chinese, malay and tamil words used to describe the dishes. This was our first time in Singapore, and we learned a lot. We feel ready to explore Hawker Centres and other shops on our own, with a few ideas of where to go next.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you had such an enjoyable experience with Priscilla. She'll be thrilled to know that her friendly approach, knowledge, and passion for sharing Singapore's history and food made your tour so memorable. It's great to know you enjoyed the variety of local dishes and that the tour gave you the confidence to continue exploring Singapore's hawker centres and local eateries on your own. Thank you once again for choosing Hello! Singapore Tours. We hope to welcome you back on your next visit to Singapore!

Wonderful Introduction to Singapore!
We had a wonderful time with Pam - the food was varied and delicious, the stops were thoughtful and the information that Pam shared with us - with the food as background - was interesting and informative. The food stops were interspersed with walking and stops to learn about neighborhoods and culture, so it didn’t feel like an overwhelming eating tour at all (though I’m glad we didn’t have dinner reservations!). And even though it rained pretty hard for a large part of the tour, Pam chose thoughtful pathways to get us where we needed to go, so we don’t feel like we missed out on anything and we didn’t get soaked. Would highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you had such an enjoyable experience with Pam. It's great to know that you appreciated the balance of delicious food, cultural insights, and neighborhood exploration. We'll be sure to share your kind words with Pam, who will be thrilled to hear them. We're also glad that despite the rain, she was able to adapt the route and ensure you had a comfortable and memorable experience. Thank you for your recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back on another tour soon!

Why this scores 89
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Singapore Food Tour: Hawker Culture & Local Neighborhoods: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Singapore.
How much does Singapore Food Tour: Hawker Culture & Local Neighborhoods cost?
+
Prices start at $153 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Singapore usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Singapore Food Tour: Hawker Culture & Local Neighborhoods take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Singapore is not rushed.
Is Singapore Food Tour: Hawker Culture & Local Neighborhoods worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 89 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 430 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most highly reviewed in Singapore, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Singapore Food Tour: Hawker Culture & Local Neighborhoods?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Singapore Food Tour: Hawker Culture & Local Neighborhoods suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Singapore Food Tour: Hawker Culture & Local Neighborhoods?
+
Around 151 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Singapore can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Singapore and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Singapore Food Tour: Hawker Culture & Local Neighborhoods start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Singapore within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Singapore?
+
On Outty we rank every Singapore experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Singapore Highlights Small Group Bike Tour on Full-Sized Bicycles, Lion City Bike Tour of Singapore, Singapore River Cruise, Night Garden Rhapsody & Spectra by CYT. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Singapore?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Singapore?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
