    Best Cooking Class I've Taken

What an incredible experience and so well organized! We started by walking to the market, where our teacher shared details about the ingredients we were buying and how locals eat. Then we returned to the school and started cooking. We were able to cook, then eat, then cook the next course, eat it, etc. We also each cooked a single serving, so you were only eating what you prepared. The most impressive part was the organization of the class. There were three areas - prep, cooking, and eating. We would prep the ingredients to create our mise en place. We would then take that to the cooking area, and while we were there, the staff would clear the prep area and set it up for our next course. It was all so seamless and well done! Just wish I had brought more cash for a tip and to buy a chopping block at the school. Our teacher was knowledgeable and fun. She was very attentive to everyone and you could tell she took pride in sharing her Thai culture through food. And, the cookbook includes all recipes, not just the ones of the class you chose.

Response from the operator: Dear Vespa31, Thank you so much for this fantastic and incredibly detailed review! We are absolutely thrilled to hear that this was the best cooking class you have ever taken. We take great pride in our structured layout, and we are delighted that you noticed and appreciated the seamless flow between our preparation, cooking, and dining areas. Our behind-the-scenes staff works hard to keep everything running like clockwork, so it is wonderful to know their efforts made your experience so smooth and enjoyable! It is also great to hear that our teacher's passion for sharing Thai culinary culture shined through, from the fresh market tour to the final dish. We want our guests to leave not just well-fed, but truly inspired—which is why we love including our complete cookbook so you can keep experimenting with authentic Thai flavors back home! Thank you for choosing the Silom Thai Cooking School by I Asia Thailand. Don't worry about the chopping block—we would be absolutely delighted to welcome you back for another course whenever you find yourself in Bangkok again! Warm regards, Nick (IAsia Thailand Online)

    Great and fun experience

Very nice and fun teacher. Everyone gets their own wok, so you can decide how spicy you want to eat. The Location is very pretty and clean. The eating room is airconditioned, which is very nice.

Response from the operator: Dear Natalie, Thank you so much for the lovely review! We are thrilled you had such a fun time with our team. We know how important it is to have your own wok—not just for the experience, but so you can find that perfect balance of Thai spice! It’s great to hear you enjoyed the market tour and found our air-conditioned dining room a nice escape from the Bangkok heat. We hope you’re already showing off your new cooking skills back home! Tasty experience

We really enjoyed our morning shopping and cooking at the Silom cookery school. Our host was really engaging and the group very friendly. If you have chance to visit. Do it.

We are so glad to hear that you enjoyed the full experience, from the morning market visit to the final dish in the kitchen. We agree that the "engaging" hosts at Silom are what make the class so special; they do a wonderful job of making the complex flavors of Thai cuisine accessible and fun. It’s also great to hear that your group was friendly, as the social atmosphere is such an important part of the day! Thank you for choosing IAsia Thailand for your culinary adventure. Silom Thai Cooking School with Fresh Market Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bangkok.

How much does Silom Thai Cooking School with Fresh Market Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $56 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bangkok usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Silom Thai Cooking School with Fresh Market Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bangkok is not rushed.

Is Silom Thai Cooking School with Fresh Market Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 84 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 79 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bangkok, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Silom Thai Cooking School with Fresh Market Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Silom Thai Cooking School with Fresh Market Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Silom Thai Cooking School with Fresh Market Tour?

    +

Around 28 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bangkok can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bangkok and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Silom Thai Cooking School with Fresh Market Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bangkok within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bangkok?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bangkok experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bangkok Backstreets Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Old Siam Bangkok Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Tingly Thai Cooking Class with Morning Market Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bangkok?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bangkok?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
