Four Adults, One Car Far Too Small
Unfortunately, our experience was seriously affected by the transportation. Although the booking was clearly made for four adults, a vehicle much too small for such a long journey (around seven hours of driving) was provided. Three adults had to squeeze into the rear seat for most of the trip, making the journey extremely uncomfortable. By the end of the day, all four of us were suffering from back and neck pain. What was particularly disappointing was the coordinator’s response. When I contacted him immediately after seeing the vehicle, asking him to arrange a larger vehicle for the return journey, he insisted that the vehicle was perfectly suitable because it was licensed for four passengers and stated that no previous customer had ever complained. Based on our experience and the conditions shown in the photographs, we found this response very disappointing, especially as no solution was offered. On a positive note, once our complaint reached Madz from Fivemo Tours, the situation was handled professionally. Our concerns were taken seriously, a thorough investigation was carried out, and the company accepted a 50% refund through Viator. I genuinely appreciate the professional way the management handled our complaint and their commitment to improving their procedures. I sincerely hope that, in the future, vehicles will be matched more carefully to the number of adult passengers booked, so that other customers do not have to go through the same experience.

Birthday tour
From the moment we were picked up by our tour guide Himantha for an early start and long drive to Sigiriya rock we were greeted with a smile giving us confidence that our trip was going to be safe and enjoyable considering the 6 hours+ on the roads. We had amazing views on the rock and a long slow climb to the top, well worth the effort with to take some photos that we can look back on in years to come. Our personal favourite was the local village tour, treated to a ride on a cart by a cow and taking the reins while being videoed by our local guide, a swamp trip followed with some interesting accessories, a neckless and hat made out of the water Lilly we then had an amazing local lunch and shown how to prepare the ingredients, it was so tasty, a great experience, I almost forgot my hat was on my head. We finished with the Dembulla cave temple, an amazing cave with huge Buddha statues and too many to count, there were many steps to encounter but the views were stunning and the Murals inside the cave along with the Buddha’s were impressive in this ancient sacred temple. The drive home was safe and Himantha was caring and considerate to our needs, we had some nice personal conversations and honestly speaking we had several tours with guides but Himantha raised the bar and was outstanding from start to finish, I only hope other couples and families are as fortunate as us to have the experience we had. WHAT A GREAT TRIP…..HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the kind review. We are glad you enjoyed.

Fabulous experience
Brilliant experience and well worth it, but beware that there are hundreds of stairs to climb, both at Danbulla and especially at Sigriya. Our driver Sageeth was a star and took really good care of us. Village visit was a standout experience. A long, but great day out
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the kind review. We are glad you enjoyed.

+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
