    An Unforgetable Experience!

Our family has taken several private tours in the past, but Gianmaria truly sets a new standard. Our 8 hour tour through the Tuscan countryside to see Siena and San Gimignano was the highlight of our entire trip to Italy. We explored beautiful places, enjoyed incredible food, and—most importantly—Gianmaria made the experience unforgettable. (My 13 year old son even said he really enjoyed the tour and that Gianmaria was his favorite tour guide.) A few days before the tour, he reached out via WhatsApp to connect and ensure everything was set. On the day of, he picked us up by our hotel and spent the rest of the day sharing insights about the Tuscan region, providing history about each town, and even stepping in as our photographer. By the end of the day, it felt like we’d made a new friend. We’re already looking forward to planning another trip so we can book another tour with Gianmaria.

Great day in Siena and Tuscany

We had a family group with age ranges from 22-82 yrs old. The transportation was very professional and comfortable with special attention to maximizing time at the stops with short walks for our elderly family that was on the trip. Gianmaria was our guide/driver and is very knowledgeable about the region and all things related to Italy in general. The company was very responsive to scheduling requests when arranging the trip and made a few changes on the fly to accommodate some needs of our party due to the weather being cold and wet.

    Tuscany Day Trip from Florence

Gianmaria was an incredible guide for our day trip into Tuscany. Was a great story teller of the history of the region and had great recommendations for things to see and do during each stop of our trip. Would highly recommend him to anyone traveling in the region.

Caution: This is not really a tour. It is really a driver service. Do your own planning.

This experience was a mixed bag. We paid a lot extra for this because it was a tour, not just a limo driver. However, our driver, Manuel, didn’t do any work to check opening hours. This is important because he chose the timing of which city to visit in which order. This means he had to know when things were open. We arrived first in Siena but the duomo was closed for the next 4 hours. As a result, we had to back track to San G. We were in the car going back and forth. As a result, we drove several hours longer than expected. Tiring! We arrived at our final destination, Monteriggioni, in the dark when everything, including the wall walk, was closed. That was pointless and poorly planned. I also had to help him with my phone’s gps when he missed a turn. On the plus side, Tuscany was beautiful and he did a great job arranging a better lunch option for us than had been planned. That was a highlight.

Response from the operator: Hello! My name is Gianmaria, owner at LIMOSERVICEINITALY- It is so funny to read such review ( this is actually the last review of 2025 Season after providing over 800 successful tours for families visiting Italy from all over the world). We are doing our job since 2006 (20 year) planning every single detail to make your experience in Italy with us always unforgettable, but, of course, there are always unhappy looking forward to complain, to cause damage to others, expecting to get the same atmosphere of high season but when visiting Italy off season, when it's dark at 5pm (not 9pm) and when shops might be closed (because from November to March after the busy season, many attractions might close). But If you book a specific tour in November or December or January, February it's logical that shops or attractions might be closed... it's off season! If you would have asked or requested us that you wanted to "absolutely" visit the Duomo or that you wanted to stop in Monteriggioni and "absolutely" walk the walls or visit the towns "absolutely" with daylight, we would have tell you to come here in May! But it' Fall, and days are shorter... we cannot ask Mother Nature to make days longer in Fall/Winter, sorry. Manuel, is a fantastic person, I invite travellers from ALL over the World to tour with him and you will have the most beautiful experience in your life in Tuscany, Italy. Manuel is working for us for a long time, he is absolutely marvellous, and he always takes care of every single detail of the tour, as ALL our drivers that are strictly selected to guarantee you the best time with our company. You are complaining because he missed a turn? What a nightmare! When we drive around Italy, we talk to our clients, we try to entertain you providing information about the areas that we are visiting and it might happen that we miss a turn, it's not the end of this World, I think.. Manuel also changed the lunch option with another that is not "better" but "different". We select carefully all our restaurants, but he changed because you told him you already been in the one we originally booked for you. Furthermore, there are driving distances between all the places.. we drive a car/van not helicopters so it takes time! This is the first 3 star review we got since 2006 (20 years). Again, we are here in Tuscany to make your time memorable, if you have specific requests, you have to tell us and not await the end of the tour to write senseless reviews. We hope to meet you again in the future, during high season when every attraction is open. Thank you for choosing our services and we wish you all the best in your life! Gianmaria

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Florence.

How much does Siena and San Gimignano Tour from Florence cost?

    +

Prices start at $950 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Florence usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Siena and San Gimignano Tour from Florence take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Florence is not rushed.

Is Siena and San Gimignano Tour from Florence worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 21 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable family friendly in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Siena and San Gimignano Tour from Florence?

    +

No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.

Is Siena and San Gimignano Tour from Florence suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Siena and San Gimignano Tour from Florence?

    +

Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Siena and San Gimignano Tour from Florence start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Florence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Florence?

    +

On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Florence?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Florence?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
