    Disappointing

I had booked the tour in Italian and it was also written on the tickets but there was nothing Italian, I don’t know why he gave the option take it away at least. The guide was nice but a last-minute replacement because at 7am they didn't know who to cover the tour, and I had booked a month before. We spent 95 euros to take a bike ride through some rice fields and get to the falls (free admission) and then lunch at 11.30 (?!?) because there was nothing left to do. Where was the discovery of the traditional village of Sidemen we did not understand. The restaurant had modest prices and even if they had lunch included we would still not spend more than 15 euros. Transfer service to/from the hotel to be paid apart from 150,000 rupees. I was quite convinced that I had also booked silver class but they told me that this was not the case, I double-checked the booking but in the list of things included some elements are indicated as “if the option was selected at the time of booking”. I booked so many things and it was a month ago, maybe I can not remember everything I selected (transfers, lunches, etc...) you can not just make the list of what I selected??? I strongly discourage the activity with children because there are both climbs and descents quite challenging. We spent 95 euros + transfer and after 2 hours / 2.5 hours we were in the hotel. Expensive and disappointing. I specify that it was not the fault of the guide who was still a good guy, nice and with good English and is the only reason for the 2 stars instead of one.

Great day out, something a bit different

Excellent location, off the beaten track with spectacular surroundings in the jungle passing through small villages. Some very steep hills on this tour so perfect for those with good stamina, anything less coupled with the heat will make this challenging. However, the tour guide was tentative to any needs around this and gave options to manage by helping with the bikes and changing routes to fit our abilities. The tour guide, nickname ‘Boy’, was knowledgeable about the vegetation and wildlife and spoke excellent English. The bikes were brand new and in tip top condition. After the cycle ride we were taken for lunch to a local warung with a spectacular view. The lunch offered Indonesian and western style food off the complete menu, the food we had was excellent and the owners were very hospitable. In the afternoon we completed the tour with a silver jewellery making class where we made a couple of silver rings. The staff were very flexible about what to make and showing us options and explaining the steps involved. We were transported around the venues by private air conditioned car with driver who spoke good English and pointed local points of interest. We had a great day out, we enjoyed the whole experience and would recommend this tour, we thought good value for money for 6 hours (10:00 to 16:00)

Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear that you had such a fantastic time on your tour. It's wonderful to know that our tour guide, "Boy," was able to provide such excellent service and knowledge about the local area. We're also glad that you enjoyed the stunning scenery, the challenging bike ride, and the delicious lunch at the local warung. The silver jewelry-making class sounds like a unique and fun experience. We appreciate your feedback and will continue to strive for excellence in all aspects of our tours. We hope to welcome you back again soon! Best regards, TripByLocals Natayana Tour Organizer Team

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ubud.

How much does Sidemen Cycling Tour with Local Guide & Gembleng Waterfall cost?

    +

Prices start at $40 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ubud usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Sidemen Cycling Tour with Local Guide & Gembleng Waterfall take?

    +

Is Sidemen Cycling Tour with Local Guide & Gembleng Waterfall worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ubud, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Sidemen Cycling Tour with Local Guide & Gembleng Waterfall?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Sidemen Cycling Tour with Local Guide & Gembleng Waterfall suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Sidemen Cycling Tour with Local Guide & Gembleng Waterfall?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ubud can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ubud and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Sidemen Cycling Tour with Local Guide & Gembleng Waterfall start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ubud within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ubud?

    +

On Outty we rank every Ubud experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Mount Batur Jeep Adventure, Best of Ubud Full-Day Tour with Jungle Swing, Full-Day Tour to Water Temples and UNESCO Rice Terraces in Bali. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ubud?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ubud?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
