Vlado was an amazing guide for a perfect day in Montenegro
Our guide / driver Vlado was fantastic and made this trip a wonderful experience. His flexible and friendly approach was key to having a good day. Our ship docked in Bar, and we wanted to drive to Kotor. Vlado was prompt and waiting for us before we even got off the ship. He gave us the option to stick with our original plan but cautioned us that the traffic to/from Kotor would leave us very little time to see the town. He recommended that we start the drive but consider stopping in Budva instead, which is what he said he would do if we were his family. He was right. Budva is a gorgeous medieval town with beautiful beaches, and we had time for a leisurely stroll and lunch, whereas we would have spent the whole day in the car if we had tried to press on for Kotor through heavy traffic. Vlado is a native Montenegrin and teacher, and he shared lots of history and points of interest along the way. He was fun, professional, smart, and an all around great guide and companion for us this trip. He even managed to entertain our two young kids on the car ride. Five star plus!

Great Tour, Great Guide, Great Memories!
Excellent tour to Kotor with beautiful photo stops along the Budva Riviera! We visited from a Norwegian Cruise and had a wonderful day. Our guide, Dragi, was outstanding—friendly, knowledgeable, patient, and especially great with kids. He was very flexible, made everyone feel comfortable, and shared interesting stories throughout the trip. Long trip but worth it.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted you enjoyed your Kotor tour from Bar and the scenic stops along the Budva Riviera. It’s great to hear our colleague made your experience so memorable with his knowledge and friendly approach. We hope to welcome you back to Montenegro on another adventure!

Wonderful time touring Kotor!
Mirko is our guide and he is fantastic! He took us on a tour of Kotor and helped us understand the history and culture of Montenegro! We had a fun time and he got us back to ship on time!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We're delighted to hear that you enjoyed exploring Kotor and learning more about Montenegro’s rich history, culture, and traditions with our colleague. Helping cruise guests discover the beauty of Kotor Old Town and Boka Bay while ensuring a relaxed and timely return to the ship is exactly what our private shore excursions are all about. Thank you for choosing Mont Travelers, and we hope to welcome you back to Montenegro again soon!

Huge Traffic Jam on way to Kotor
This was the first time when we cruising we stopped in BAR. The port in BAR was industrial and we had to be bused to the main exit where met my our tour guide who was nice enough. He explained that there was a road construction and it would take us quite a wile to get to Kotor. Last time we had stopped in Kotor a pretty town on the Adriatic with a lot of charm. Bar had neither. There was nothing to see and not particulary interesting. After driving for over 2 hours we asked the guide to turn around back 2 hours through traffic so we would not miss the ship. I blame Viator for selling this tour knowing full well the conditions of the rounds and Celebrity cruises for not warning us before we got off the boat. Both were fully aware of this situation!
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry that your experience did not fully meet your expectations. On the day of your visit, temporary roadworks and increased traffic between Budva and Kotor affected travel times. While such circumstances are beyond our control, we always prioritize safe return to the ship and careful schedule management. Bar is an important coastal destination with a rich heritage, including the Old Town of Bar, one of Montenegro’s most significant historical sites. We continuously refine our shore excursions to provide the best possible experience for our guests. We appreciate your visit and hope to welcome you again in the future under smoother conditions.

Personal explanation of local towns and photo views.
We visit old town bar and budva. Mirko explained very well and adapted to our tempo ( my parrens go a bit slower). Comfortable mini van.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind words! We’re glad Mirko provided a great tour of Old Town Bar and Budva during your short visit from cruise port Bar. Comfort and flexibility are important to us, and it’s great to hear you enjoyed the comfortable mini van as well. We hope to see you again for more wonderful Montenegro tours! Mont Travelers Team

The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Shore Excursion Kotor, Sveti Stefan & Perast | Cruise Port of Bar: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Budva.
How much does Shore Excursion Kotor, Sveti Stefan & Perast | Cruise Port of Bar cost?
+
Prices start at $125 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Budva usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Shore Excursion Kotor, Sveti Stefan & Perast | Cruise Port of Bar take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Budva is not rushed.
Is Shore Excursion Kotor, Sveti Stefan & Perast | Cruise Port of Bar worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Budva, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Shore Excursion Kotor, Sveti Stefan & Perast | Cruise Port of Bar?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Shore Excursion Kotor, Sveti Stefan & Perast | Cruise Port of Bar suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Shore Excursion Kotor, Sveti Stefan & Perast | Cruise Port of Bar?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Budva can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Budva and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Shore Excursion Kotor, Sveti Stefan & Perast | Cruise Port of Bar start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Budva within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Budva?
+
On Outty we rank every Budva experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Great Montenegro Tour-Lovcen NP,Mausoleum Lovcen,River of Crnojevic,Sveti Stefan, North Montenegro, Durmitor, Tara & Ostrog Tour, Lipa Cave Guided Tour & Train Ride. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Budva?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Budva?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
