Hectic Hanoi in a day
Met by Linh at port gate as planned and taken in a comfortable, air conditioned car to see the sights of Hanoi. Linh was very friendly and gave us lots of information about the places we visited and tweaked our timetable to allow us to take a rickshaw ride through the old quarter. Highlight of the day was seeing the train pass through Train Street just feet from where we were enjoying an egg and coconut coffee. It was a long drive back to port and a busy day but Linh and our driver, Tang, made sure we did everything we wanted to make the most of our visit and would highly recommend them.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that Linh and Tang made your Hanoi visit memorable and comfortable. It’s great you enjoyed Train Street and the Old Quarter experience. Your kind recommendation means a lot to us. We look forward to welcoming you again!

A wonderfull day in Hanoi. 1000% recommend
I had a wonderful experience on this Hanoi city tour. Our guide Linh was extremely friendly, enthusiastic, and very informative. She shared detailed historical stories about each destination making the tour much more meaningful. Although we booked for four people, we were picked up in a spacious 16 seat vehicle making the journey very comfortable. We were able to visit the most famous highlights of Hanoi and also enjoyed delicious Bun Cha during the trip. The driver was careful and highly professional, which made us feel safe throughout the journey. Overall, it was a well organized tour and I highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind feedback! We’re delighted you enjoyed the Hanoi city tour with our guide Linh. It’s wonderful to hear that the stories, comfortable vehicle, delicious Bun Cha, and professional driver made your trip memorable. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again soon in Vietnam.

Outstanding tour, 1000% recommended!
Our family booked the Hanoi city tour and food tour with Bryan and his team, and we were truly impressed by their service. We were picked up by a private car and taken to explore Hanoi’s most famous landmarks. One unforgettable highlight was enjoying coffee at Train Street, the train passed incredibly close, which was both shocking and exciting. In the evening, Lin guided us on a food tour in the Old Quarter, where we tasted signature dishes from all three regions of Vietnam at Michelin-listed restaurants. She also shared interesting stories about the food and its history. We even got to watch the New Year’s Eve fireworks at Hoan Kiem Lake. It would be a pity to visit Hanoi without booking Bryan’s services. Highly recommend!
Response from the operator: We are truly happy to hear that you had unforgettable experiences with us in Hanoi. Hello Olivia. Our mission is to bring Vietnamese culture and cuisine closer to you, and we are delighted to know that we met your expectations. Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Shore Excursion Discovery Hanoi City from Halong Bay Port: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ha Long Bay.
How much does Shore Excursion Discovery Hanoi City from Halong Bay Port cost?
+
Prices start at $69 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ha Long Bay usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Shore Excursion Discovery Hanoi City from Halong Bay Port take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ha Long Bay is not rushed.
Is Shore Excursion Discovery Hanoi City from Halong Bay Port worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ha Long Bay, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Shore Excursion Discovery Hanoi City from Halong Bay Port?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Shore Excursion Discovery Hanoi City from Halong Bay Port suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Shore Excursion Discovery Hanoi City from Halong Bay Port?
+
Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ha Long Bay can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ha Long Bay and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Shore Excursion Discovery Hanoi City from Halong Bay Port start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ha Long Bay within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Ha Long Bay?
+
On Outty we rank every Ha Long Bay experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include All Inclusive 2 Days Halong Bay & Lan Ha Bay on Au Co cruise, Top Tier: Overnight Ha Long Bay Cruise 5-Star, Balcony Cabin-2D1N, All inclusive Bhaya 2-Day Halong Bay Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Ha Long Bay?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Ha Long Bay?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
