What you get

    About this experience

Kauai is famous for many things but perhaps none more than being one of the leading natural sanctuaries for the Green Sea Turtle. With a lifespan of over 100 years and sizes exceeding 5 feet in length, they are truly a sight to behold. In Kauai, the Honu seem to have embraced the Aloha spirit, frequently greeting divers with curiosity and interest. Having been protected by the endangered species act since 1979, the Hawaiian Green Sea Turtle has very little fear of the divers that visit their home. We're fairly certain they would throw you a "shaka" as they swam by, if only they had opposable thumbs. With over 1,250 endemic species in the Hawaiian Islands, the Honu is just one of the many exciting animals you will experience on your tour. Macro photographers will be thrilled by the vast diversity of nudibranch, cowries, pipefish, and colorful crustations. Explorers will love the variety of eels, schooling blue striped snapper, perching hawk fish, and shapeshifting octopus.

Night Shore Dives @ Koloa Landing

I meet with my Dive guide at the shop and he drove us to Koloa Landing. We suited up and heading in for the first of two dives. The first was a twilight dive and the second it was full night. There were dolphins playing in the cove before we wadded in and two green turtles sleeping on the ramp into the water. So already a spectacular dive. I lucked out and ended up having a private set of dives with Cody which made the evening extra. We were in for over 1 hour on the first dive and 45 minutes on the second. Sadly I got chilly. The turtles were fun and playful, the fish were plentiful and the reef was healthy. It was great to see.

    Amazing turtles

Did not offer transport from our port - probably wouldn’t do it again because transport was hard. The company was amazing. Taylor went above and beyond to make sure we got back without missing our ship. The other guy from San Fran was incredible. The dive master Cody said it was discover when that is not what we booked. It’s a shore dive. Heavy current. But the turtles were worth it. Made us do exercises. Not necessary as I’m a dive master. Not sure where the wires got crossed.

Had a GREAT time on my dives with the fabulous Cody! Expert Diver and very personable. Saw so many Sea Turtles, Eels and even a shark! Thank you Seaport Divers for an incredible experience!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the great review, we appreciate it. A shark at the shore is a special treat! Come diving with us again!

    Turtles all the way down…

Natalie and I were on Kauai with the Pride of America and I booked this dive for one of our days in port. I have a few dozen dives logged, but this was her first after certification and first in actual open water. Carlos was a great guide; got us geared up, dive/safety brief, and kept us on track for two amazing dives. We didn’t see an octopus, not for lack of his trying, but we did see dive with more sea turtles than I could keep count of…highly recommend!

Response from the operator: Kevin, we are super happy to hear that you guys enjoyed your excursion with us. What an amazing first dive for Natalie to see so many turtles! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your cruise and we get to see you again next year!

    Beautiful dive with Seasport

Excellent dive with Carlos! We were in a big bait ball within a few minutes of going under. Saw turtles, octopus, and a wide variety of fish. Beautiful conditions and a quick, easy entry from shore. Everyone in this shop is friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Response from the operator: We appreciate the awesome review! We’re glad you had such a great dive with Carlos — being in a bait ball right off the bat is always an epic start! Turtles, octopus, and great conditions? Sounds like a perfect day. We really appreciate the kind words about the team, and we hope to dive with you again soon!

Shore Dive with Sea Turtles @ Koloa Landing for Certified Divers: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kauai.

How much does Shore Dive with Sea Turtles @ Koloa Landing for Certified Divers cost?

    +

Prices start at $164 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kauai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Shore Dive with Sea Turtles @ Koloa Landing for Certified Divers take?

    +

Plan for about 2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kauai is not rushed.

Is Shore Dive with Sea Turtles @ Koloa Landing for Certified Divers worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 62 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kauai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Shore Dive with Sea Turtles @ Koloa Landing for Certified Divers?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Shore Dive with Sea Turtles @ Koloa Landing for Certified Divers suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Shore Dive with Sea Turtles @ Koloa Landing for Certified Divers?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kauai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kauai and add a light layer if any part of the 2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Shore Dive with Sea Turtles @ Koloa Landing for Certified Divers start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kauai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Kauai?

    +

Kauai sells Na Pali Coast boat and helicopter tours, Waimea Canyon drives, tubing through old plantation ditches and Hanalei kayak trips. Ocean conditions shut down the north shore boat runs in winter, so cancellation terms matter. On Outty we rank every Kauai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Koloa Zipline in Kauai, Kauai: NaPali Boat Tour on the Amelia K, Kauai: Secret Falls Kayak and Hike. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Kauai?

    +

April to June and September to October, with calmest seas in summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Kauai?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
