      10 minutes here

    2. Kabukicho

Welcome to Kabukicho, Tokyo’s most famous and dazzling nightlife district! Often called “the city that never sleeps”, Kabukicho bursts with neon lights, buzzing bars, themed restaurants, karaoke lounges, and every kind of entertainment imaginable. Whether you’re here for a drink, a show, or just people-watching, you’ll feel the electric energy the moment you step in. What makes it special is its endless variety—from stylish cocktail bars to quirky themed cafés and retro pubs, it’s a place where every night tells a different story.

      60 minutes here

    3. Omoide Yokocho

Tucked right beside Shinjuku Station, Omoide Yokocho—literally “Memory Lane”—is a narrow maze of tiny eateries that takes you straight back to post-war Tokyo. Here, the air is thick with the aroma of grilled yakitori, the glow of paper lanterns, and the sound of friendly chatter spilling out of tiny 6-seat bars. Each shop is a pocket of history, run by owners who’ve been serving locals for generations. This is the place to experience old-school Tokyo charm: order skewers, sip sake, and chat shoulder-to-shoulder with locals and travelers alike.

      60 minutes here

    4. Step into Golden Gai, a legendary nightlife enclave hidden in the heart of Shinjuku. Comprised of a few narrow alleys packed with over 200 miniature bars—some no larger than a living room—Golden Gai offers an intimate, almost secret atmosphere unlike anywhere else in the world. Each bar has its own personality: jazz bars, film-themed spots, punk dens, or quiet whiskey hideouts. It’s a place where strangers become friends, and every doorway hides a story waiting to be told.

    Absolutely stunning

Had a really good time in Tokyo. The all you can eat was amazing and the guide was literally the best He taught me places where I would never be able to find out on my own. Had a perfect time and the places I went were absolutely stunning. If I were to go on my own, I would probably find Shinjuku as a touristy place but my partner and I found the REAL Shinjuku place. So fun!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your amazing feedback! We are thrilled that you and your partner were able to experience the "REAL Shinjuku" with us. Shinjuku can certainly feel touristy at first glance, but as you discovered, it has so many hidden gems tucked away that offer a truly authentic vibe. Our guide is delighted to hear that you enjoyed the "all-you-can-eat" and the secret spots he shared. It’s our mission to show guests the side of Tokyo they wouldn't find in a guidebook, and we’re so glad we hit the mark for you! Hope to see you back in our favorite neighborhood again soon!

An Unforgettable Night Out in Shinjuku!

Our guide was fantastic and created such a fun atmosphere for the whole group. The food and drinks kept coming, and it was great value. It was a safe, exciting, and delicious way to spend an evening together. Highly recommended for couples visiting Tokyo!

The Highlight of My Tokyo Trip!

I honestly had the best time on this tour! I was a bit nervous about exploring Kabukicho on my own, but the guide was super friendly and made everyone feel safe and welcome. The "unlimited food and drinks" deal was amazing value—we tried so many delicious local dishes that I wouldn't have known how to order myself. It felt less like a formal tour and more like hanging out with a group of friends. If you want to experience the real Shinjuku nightlife, definitely book this!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words! We are absolutely thrilled to hear that you had such a fantastic time exploring Shinjuku with us. Kabukicho can certainly feel a bit overwhelming at first, so I’m glad our guide was able to make you feel right at home. We take great pride in creating an atmosphere that feels like "hanging out with friends" rather than a rigid tour, as we believe that’s the best way to experience the authentic heartbeat of Tokyo. It’s also wonderful to know you enjoyed the food and drinks! Our team handpicks those local dishes specifically because they are hidden gems that can be a bit tricky to navigate alone. We hope the memories of your Shinjuku night stay with you for a long time. Should you ever find yourself back in Tokyo, we’d love to welcome you for another round! Warm regards,

Shinjuku Unlimited Food and Drinks Bar Hopping Tour: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.

How much does Shinjuku Unlimited Food and Drinks Bar Hopping Tour cost?

    +

Prices start at $12000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Shinjuku Unlimited Food and Drinks Bar Hopping Tour take?

    +

Plan for about 3.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.

Is Shinjuku Unlimited Food and Drinks Bar Hopping Tour worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Shinjuku Unlimited Food and Drinks Bar Hopping Tour?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Shinjuku Unlimited Food and Drinks Bar Hopping Tour suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Shinjuku Unlimited Food and Drinks Bar Hopping Tour?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 3.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Shinjuku Unlimited Food and Drinks Bar Hopping Tour start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tokyo?

    +

Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tokyo?

    +

Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tokyo?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
